not bad but it seems like we could have packed the place in a little more with the bleachers in the end zone.

The student turnout was shockingly impressive. I don't know if we've ever had a student turnout like that before school starts.
:lol:MTcowpoke said:Sounds like there was a great crowd. Could not tell on TV as ESPN did not show many shots of the various bleachers.
Not much of a crowd on here. About a baker's dozen. Why not go over to egriz and join all the other Eagle fans,

what is the deal with our school not bringing in more bleachers and getting the gateway project going? SOOOOO bloodddyyy frustrating. I bet we could maybe get 15K for Montana if they roll in as a top 5 team.

I think Eastern and Montana would sell out Albi this year. I think our all-time high was 17,200 there. Mi pretty sure it would be filled over with this enthusiasm.
If the Gateway Project is still looking like something for the "indefinite future" instead of a scheduled project, it might make sense to pull the trigger on getting 5,000 erector-set style bleachers on the East Side (akin to what Sac State uses). At least that would dramatically increase seating and improve sight lines; my guess would be about $200k.

I want the Gateway as much as anyone else, but the "silent phase" is nearing it's third year and we clearly have a President worth questioning as far as athletics go. We NEED to take what we can get at this point and if that means scaling down the renovation to 7,000 more seats on the east side, then we need to accept that.
What can we do as alumni/fans to make that known?
