2014 WSU Head Coach?

Crowton was let go mid season in the CFL. In my book a horrible choice for the wildcats. they need energy not another coach looking to end his football life.

A-rod isn't making anywhere close to 400K more like 250, but still isn't going to take the weber job for a whole bunch of other reasons.

Ena- could be a good pickup, I just don't know enough about him.

Doman- I believe he said that BYU was only place that he had a passion for and that is the only coaching job that he would take. We need someone who is ALL IN

Here are a few others to consider and I think they are the most likely options left

Nick Howell- BYU DC He is an ogden native and he is a young energetic coach with a passion for WSU

Jay Hill- Well known as a top recruiter, again with youth and energy and a local guy who can bring quality young coaches and players with him.

You want some names of those who have interviewed so here's a few to chew on. Hammer met with the "Committee" last Friday and Doman and Howell did today.

Hammer is head coach at Weber high. Not at SUU

Phew!! Glad he's happy at Weber High (or wherever else)! Thanks for the info 'baller' on the interviews, keep us updated. Couple of questions to whomever: (1) Where is Jay Hill coaching at? (May have been stated earlier, but I missed it); (2) Is there really a "committee"?; Who is on it & have they been used before? I assumed it was just Bovee making the decision then getting the OK of the admins on it. Thanks.

Thanks baller, anyone currently on staff interview... particularly Pflugrad? If Howell is selected I hope Phlu is offered the OC job, it takes a few years to get his system in place and WSU could have a high octane offense.

I'd be ready to move on when it's not Pflugrad. Heck, Weber State is passing on him.

To suggest Weber St. "passed" on Pflu is a joke IMO. Much, much greater chance it was the opposite way around.

Like I said (UNDvince97-01), I don't expect you to believe me. I do happen to know a coach that has worked with him on staff and has talked to him within the last 3 days. Again, take it FWIW.

Could just be forum fodder, but who knows...

Just wondering if an "administrator" on this forum could please remove the Vote Poll? It looks like voting is done (for several days) & "someone else" won! Likely the final result, the way it looks, I've yet to see any post or info that suggests any of the names listed are even being considered (thru their own choice or Bovee's)? :coffee: THANKS!!

I don't have any insider info but I can make what I believe will be an accurate prediction. Howell will be named the new head football coach at Weber in the near future. Personally I wish Bovee would hire someone with head coaching experience and success. But Howell seems to be a dynamic young guy. Only time will tell if he is a good hire or not. And, by the way, I don't think that the committee has any real power in deciding who the coach will be. It is Bovee all the way...

I talked to Jerry last night. He said that they are close to getting it done. There should be an announcement soon. :thumb:

That sounds like Fflu, maybe if they go with Howell they can keep Robin as the OC and he can help mentor Howell.

Pflu or Price are the only candidates exciting enough for me. :wall: If Bovee hires someone else he ought to canned himself

I have no idea what is happening, and from the sound of things, very few of us on here know either. Don Eck was interviewed for the gig that is all the insider info I have and that really isn't the most exciting addition out here.

Baller has said it'll be Howell. Which seems like an interesting prospect, and since I think I know who you are, is a fairly accurate prediction who our next coach will be. Seems like a decent choice to me, but I'd rather have Eric Price or Pflu.
