2015 Recruiting - 18 Verbals - Updated 2/3

To All,
Each year our Coaches make me eat "Crow", the talent the Coaches comes up with is beyond me. How we does it with what little Scholarships we have, and how we work with the young men to get them to commit. We have another great Recruiting Class again. I didn't go to the NLI, because of my being sick, followed on Athletics Blog. My daughter came home with the Roster, and I saw they names I hoped were going to be Future Eagles. We did great, now just have to see the product perform on the field. Saw on TV where Vernon and Coach Baldwin are going to meet on Monday, I wish Vernon well, I don't care if he comes back or not. I tired if of the Circus that is going on, Vernon is just looking out for himself, which he should, with a young son. Good luck on what ever decision he makes. Spring Ball is coming soon. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:    Vic Wallace

I'm very impressed with the job we did recruiting. Sawyer and McDonald do an amazing job of finding talent and the rest of the staff breaks down whether or not its a good fit as well as anyone.

Every full offer kid we recruited on the OL had other D1 offers.

Most our 2015 recruits had 2-3 star ratings by various recruiting services.

Just imagine our classes if the Gateway Project or even some semblance of it was full go, hopefully something gets done soon! We should start a Red Zone Grassroots Fund Drive. Who was it that was mocking the Griz fans a couple months ago with the donation website. That was actually a good idea. I'm not greedy, I just want a similar sized grandstand on the East End Zone and track removed.

A grass roots effort may very well work. Besides the track and stands the stadium needs bathrooms and more concessions. Perhaps they could have naming rights for those who contribute ... obzervers pooper has a nice ring to it.

I was thinking about this the other day. I think something like this would be a good idea. The griz did this and have raised over $110,000. Granted we do not have as large of a fan base like theirs but crowd funding would be a positive step in the right direction. Instead of waiting and wishing for the BOT/admin/university to collect the funds for the gateway, lets get something started ourselves to show our support and how much we want stadium renovations. I'd gladly toss some $$$ for this.

I wasn't able to watch it live due to work, but for everyone who's really interested in this year's recruiting class I highly recommend you go watch it on BigSkyTv. It's archived under football.

Seattle Eagle,
What I saw of the Recruits, I am very much impressed with all. Don't want to mention individuals, we now have to get the Recruits and other Players ready for Spring Training. Can't wait. Our team will be ok, regardless. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:        Vic Wallace

I missed it too. Was so glad to see it on there. There are some great highlights. I thought the new players on the defensive side of the ball had some very aggressive hits!

Talking about Recruits. Have any of you seen the gentleman from Island of Tonga, who signed with BYU. This is not a mistake, he is 6'7" 410 lbs. That is a big young man, and they said his agility are not bad. I will have to wait and see, BTW, he is supposed to play defense. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: He signed a few days ago. Vic Wallace

Anyone has a link, I cannot find it?

clawman,
Heard Coach Baldwin on ESPN Radio today @ 4 p.m., he spoke highly of Vernon Adams. He mentioned that he spoke to Vernon earlier, and again today when they met, explained if he was moving on, he couldn't work out in the facilities with the team. Good luck VA, you made your decision, now it is up to you to complete what is expected of you to graduate, and move on. It isn't going to be that easy, and get ready for Spring FB. UO offense is very fast, should he make it, he will continue to have trouble with cramps. Spoke to some of the Players today, they are not concerned, they all say we will be alright. Vic Wallace

Never to soon to talk about 2016 recruits. Trevon Bradford announced on twitter EWU has give him an offered. WR/S from Oregon.

EgrizAZ,
Trevon Bradford looks great, he even blocks. He has some JETS, and Afterburners on him. He doesn't waste time getting the ball down the field. He will be a great addition to Eagle Nation. Vic Wallace

air045,
I've been checking out #53 Jonah Jordan, he is coming along great. He is really holding his own. All of the Players have put on some Muscles. Next week Tuesday, I think is the last practice until about July? Have a great day. What is going on at Mead High? The firing of FB Coach. I taught he had a winning record. Vic Wallace

EWUmomma,
Nice seeing you and the Hubby today at practice. We left a little early from practice, the wind was a little cold. Promise Chris and myself will be at Cassidy apt tomorrow @ about 6:30 p.m. Don't know if you had an opportunity to see Matt Johnson today, he came in with Coach Sawyer and others. Dr Arevelo and his wife came in for the activities on Saturday. Should be a great time. Vic Wallace

PDX,
I think we all knows there are some problems with our team, will not mention any the positions, we all know the Coaches is also watching. But you noticed the two Scrimmages improved greatly? I think the Offense won the battle yesterday, our Defense are going to be great, The names I have been mentioning on the blog are making a lot of noise, and like Muhammad Ali, (one of my favorites) said many of times, "They will shock the world". We have so much talent on this Team, it is mind boggling. Again keep these names in mind: Defense, Moinke Sarte, Kaleb Levao, Jakob Stoll, Kurt Calhoun, Alek Kacmarcik, Mac McLachlan, Dylan Donahue, Keenan Williams, Jonah Jordan, and many more. Offense Spencer Blackburn, Nick Ellison, Jarrod Jones, Henderson Belk, Jack Hunter, Ashanti Kindle, Colin Cossette, Zach Eagle, Stu Stiles. These are the young Studs that didn't play last year, they will bring a lot of talent to this team. I know there are many more I could have mentioned. Have a Great Sunday. Vic Wallace

I know a few of the coaches think Zach Eagle is going to push for time. That says a lot about him given how extremely deep we are at WR. They really see him as a huge playmaker.
I think we will have a frosh LB active, and maybe a few frosh DB's active (I really like one of our new safeties from Oregon). On Offense, As many as 3 frosh OL active by seasons end and an RB could come in and contribute. We have a special recruiting class. A few will push for time immediately.

To All,
Saw Tyler Harvey this morning, he was attending the Lakers Training Camp. SWX just supplied a half minute to say something, didn't understand what was said. Heard he watched the Lakers for sometime, and now he is in their camp. His step Dad did say he had about 9 more visits in the next few weeks. Good Luck, Harvey. Vic Wallace
