It looks good to me.

Except the OSU game. Last time we faced an Andersen team we got pummeled. Ugh, why couldn't have he just stayed at Wisconsin and let the beavers flounder one more year.

I may be overly optimistic, but I can see 6 or 7 wins in this schedule. As long as we can keep our heads up after the first two games, we'll be OK. I'm excited for coach Hill's second year at the helm. The record didn't reflect it, but last years team showed a lot of improvement from the previous year. :coffee:

This isn't news, we've known the schedule for like a year. Only change is the Oregon St. game is now on Friday instead of Saturday. But I guess old news is better than no news.

Lets all be honest...3 wins would be progress and after the last few, a sign of success. My gut agrees with SWeberCat and I could totally see the Cats winning between 4-6, but this team has the talent to possibly do better. I won't be surprised if the Cats win more than 6 and I wouldn't be shocked if they win less than 5. Depends on injuries, turnover margin, and how much more efficient the Cats become on both sides of the ball.

 Understatement! Which is OK! Agree wholeheartedly with your jest, but I, being optimistic in my own way, predict 5-5 result. Progress!!! :-D

Does anyone have any idea when the 2016 schedule will be released or at least the Big Sky part of it. Seems like these games have been scheduled for years and years. But not a peep about 2016 and beyond for a long, long time.

I haven't seen anything from the Big Sky on future schedules, although North Dakota claims they know their future conference schedules. They say Weber plays @ UND on Oct 29, 2016.

Looks like a schedule that Jay can work with. I'll be honest, I'm a bit more excited for football this year than I have been since Mac left. The Cats are talented and getting better quick. I wouldn't doubt seeing the Cats go .500 or better. I'd love to see some upsets.

I do actually like how Weber and Sacramento State are continuing the series even through 2017, The Cats and the Hornets have played each other every year since the Hornets have joined the BSC. And I hope it continues

Half-glass full analysis? Why should any Weber State fan be cautiously optimistic about the 2015 season?

1. Competitive in every game last season. Turnovers, injuries, and finishing games killed the Cats. Weber has added depth, a team that understands the system, and far more confidence.
2. A number of key starters and lettermen return this season who have vast experience and talent.
3. Another really strong and deep recruiting class.
4. Highly favorable schedule. Yes, road games in Missoula and Cheney aren't the greatest, but Northern Colorado and Northern Arizona are both winnable games on the road and the home schedule looks great with SUU, UND, UC-Davis, and ISU visiting. I think the only way Weber can beat ISU is playing the Bengals at home, late November, outside a dome. A freak weather event could only help. Could happen again, like 2013.
5. having Sac at home and knowing that Sac is virtually rebuilding is a great indication to getting the team an early home win and a little revenge for our loss in Sac last year. One of the many games we practically gifted wrapped with TOs and Flags.

I'm thinking that the Cats aren't necessarily a playoff team, but will play spoiler in 2015. If teams think they are going to get the Cats to roll over like 2013, they've got another thing coming. 2014 showed the Sky that Weber is dangerous and can beat anyone at anytime. Unfortunately, too many miscues happened each week which kept Weber out the win column till week 11. Spotting teams 14 points before scoring didn't help matters either; yet, each game was competitive. I feel the team will take that next step and will be able to finish out games.

To be honest, there is a lot to be excited about at Weber State. Our team will definitely turn some eyes this season. Big Sky best get ready cause a whirl-wind is coming.

I'd have to agree with you 100% on that one Purple. ISU hasn't won down in Ogden in about 30 years, but the Bengals should be favored in that one. Unless there's a bad windstorm or snowstorm or something like that. Two years ago the bad windstorm took ISU completely out of our game.

Hoping that my wife has her baby AFTER the ISU game (due date is same day as game) so I can go. Of all the home games this year that's the one I'm looking forward to the most.

Good job on the part of Brandon Garside (SE) in previewing upcoming WSU games. :thumb:

Currently sitting at 5-5 on the year.

Is this a season where we as Wildcat fans can say our team exceeded expectations?

Or, are we left sitting idly with our hats in our hands wondering what if?

Right now, I feel a little bit of both. I wanted to believe the Cats could win more than 2 games, and that if they did, even if it was only 3, that that was progress. So, having 5 wins right now, with a chance for 6 and a winning season (the first since 2010) is a great feeling. But, I also feel that we could be battling for a playoff spot, if not for a conference championship, but we lost two games where we were the better team. Weird feeling for a Wildcat fan. Exceeding expectations, but not totally fulfilling what was possible. Weird. Nice thing, our team returns a lot of talent.
