2016 Recruiting: 19 Verbals (Known) *Updated 2/2*

Dyles tweet announcing he has signed a LOI is off at
best. A lot of drama with Dyles and his time at Bellevue
and Academic Institute.

He did try to transfer from Bellevue to ODea but for some
reason ODea took a pass.

LaDopaPDX,
I could speculate Dyles might have academic problems, not sure, could be. If he does, nothing wrong, we have the program to help him get himself or anyone else grades up. It will be up to him to spend the year in classrooms, once the grades are up, he is in. I remembered Clay DeBorg was so happy when he got his grades up he was Prop48, he came up to me and was so proud of himself. He spoke to myself and my friend Neal Gmeiner the day he came back to practice, very happy for his accomplishments. Hope Dyles is not frustrated. Then it could be the "Clearing House". Just have to wait and see what is ahead for the young man. Good Luck Omar Dyles. Vic Wallace

clawman,
I think Strength Instructor Amir and his Helpers are working very hard with our Players. I noticed how Mitch Fettig, DB, Jake Hoffman, Josh Lewis, and others are really putting on some weight, and muscles. Last year they were hitting as if they had a bunch of muscles, they will be felt this year when they make connections with the opponents :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:    Go Eagles!!!!! Why would he announce that he has given a verbal to EWU if there was no scholarship offer?

I wouldn't assume that there wasn't an offer. Most likely it is something to do with the NCAA and eligibility. I'm sure we'll know more in the next few months.

My guess there's an academic or clearing house issue. No harm sending in a letter of intent in even if he is a prop 48 player or waiting on a clearing house issue and until that's finalized EWU can make no formal announcement. Saying he gave a verbal says to me says he's committed to do whatever it takes to get on the field for EWU as EWU would make an offer for a schollie once he completes requirements for prop 48. No big deal and he may have just wanted to be part of Bellevue's huge signing class. He's good!

Don't think I've seen anyone talk on Coach Graham's son, Ty Graham, going to Idaho on a full ride. Never saw where we even made on offer to him. A Cheney High product who went to Idaho as a safety would seem to be a shoe in at EWU, especially when his Dad is a coach here. Is John looking to go to Idaho as well(one would think he'd want to watch his son play)? Seems like an odd situation to me...That's like Idaho's HC Petrino not signing his kid (Mason) to Idaho(which he did) and signing for WSU or EWU.

The EAGS roster is full of young DBs, many at the safety position. I think a strong safety transfer would fill an immediate need.

Eastern offered Ty Graham. It's not unusual for players to want to go to school somewhere away from home so I wouldn't read too much into it. Eastern signed Keenan Williams from Cheney High last year as well as a few GSL kids throughout the past several years so I think we're getting our fair share of the local talent.

Would you have wanted to spend your college years under your Dads watchful eye?

clawman,
I saw the evening when we signed our Recruits, where Coach Graham son had signed with Idaho, Vandals. Don't know what kind of Scholarship or not we had so we could talk to talk with him. Maybe he or his family wanted him to go away from home for a while. (Not making this sound like they wanted to see him go.)I met the young man, and he seems like an outstanding young man. See you tomorrow? I hate this shit we now have to go to Reno for the Playoffs, March 7th. I would have rather have the Playoffs at the winning School, then the Championships where ever. Well such is life, we win some and lose some. Vic Wallace

I saw on NWPR that 6-7 340 Derek McMurray of Tigard had committed to Eastern. He is not on Eastern's LOI list, but he was a teammate of Conner Crist of Tigard, and could he be coming as a preferred walk-on? He was injured his entire junior season.

McMurray is going to someplace called "Pima."

First team 4a All State linebacker Conor McKenna (6-1 210) from undefeated state champion Gonzaga Prep is coming to Eastern as a preferred walk-on. His dad is the head coach at Gonzaga.

My friend called me last night and told me he heard the news on SWX while looking at the game. We have an OL Jack Hunter also from Gonzaga Prep. Jack seems like he loves playing here at EWU. Vic Wallace

To All,
Made my weekly trip out for 7 on 7. Started at 4p.m. stopped at 6p.m. Approximately 45 Players. Met a walk-on Safety from Lewis and Clark HS. Taylor Duncan, he looks very good. Team had a very good 7 on 7. Quarterback Andrew Zimmerman is getting better. He was hurt all last year as a Freshman. Of course West, Gurub, and Hennessey looks damn good. Can't wait for Spring to get started. Noticed our Schedule was on the Eagles Section. Spoke to Andrew Katzenberger LB, 6'2" 220 lbs, Fr from Lynnwood High, 15. He was also out there getting some 7 on 7 before the Practices starts. I have been very much impressed with how many Players are out for each practice. Go Eagles!!!!! Vic Wallace

joemon,
Colton Swain TE, and about 6 of our Recruits was at the Scrimmage on Saturday, spoke to some of them, they love what they saw of the Game and Players. We also had another crowd at the Lobster Feed over 500 people came, some of our regulars didn't show. It was very crowded, and good eating. Spoke to Tamrick Pierce, RB on Saturday, when you see him, you will be looking at another Jessie Chatman, just a bit taller, and built. Come June all of our Recruits will be leaving HS becoming College Students. Welcome to All. Go Eagles!!!!!Vic Wallace

ewusigep252,
There is an OL also coming for 2017, also from California. His name slips my taught, it is my vehicle, will get his name. He was here about 1 month ago with Coach Best, and a very big young man. We are surely loading up early. Hope you saw the Red/White Game on Saturday, everything about the team is progressing very well. I think they will have about three more practices left. Go Eagles!!!!!Vic Wallace
