Old runner I found stats on his junior and senior year
Junior stats are 68% completion 2734 yards 45 pass tds 2 ints, 9 rushing tds 303 yards
Senior stats are 62% completion 2506 yards 36 pass tds 7 ints, 15 rushing tds 546 yards
They played one less game his senior also and I couldn't find anything on his arm strength but it looks very strong on his highlight reel. Also they won his last 27 games that is a winner and someone we definitely need
Thanks. Those are very good numbers. If he can do that at our level, he certainly could contribute. It would really be great if he could participate in spring ball. It would give him a better chance. :coffee:

Okay...so, Kaden Jenks is the real deal. I was definitely wrong. He should end up having a nice career at Weber State. Zeke Birch, Josh Davis, and Spencer Curtis are great gets. I can't understand how any of them were overlooked and ended up at Weber. What a class by Jay Hill!!

Notice that Ryan Swanson ended up signing with Portland State. I don't know if that is a huge loss or not. Watched his highlight film and he is a tough kid that seems to play hard. Hope he does well in Portland. Another kid from that high school ended up signing as a preferred walkon, Kaden Snooks TE/DE.

Tal, you and I generally agree on certain topics. But this comment has me shaking my head as a fan of WSU. This is part of the culture problem Hill is trying to change. What you have stated is that they all used Weber State as a fall back plan, a plan B, etc. This is not the case anymore. Many of the players we signed this year had offers to other FCS and FBS teams. Like HIll said, "players are wanting to come play here." Weber State did recruit kids who held FBS offers, so no, they were not "over looked," but simply like what Hill and the University is doing. The notion of "Just Weber" needs to go away. Whoever had the final say on that dumb phrase for marketing, they need to be fired. We as fans need to realize that players are coming here for a chance at a Division I National Championship. Players are not just "ending up" here anymore, they are choosing to be here.

:+1: This is showing now, as Coach Hill eluded to at the signing party & thanked his assistants for a great recruiting effort. :thumb:

Sometimes, you don't really know how strong a recruiting class is for at least a couple of years. With what we have returning, we have almost everything needed to continue building toward a championship. One of our QBs will need to establish himself and I am sure that will happen. We have a strong group of returning RBs and receivers. We lost some good OL and DL members, but have guys coming back and coming in who look big and strong. We lost some good LBs and DBs, but seem to have a bunch of them coming in as well.

This could be shaping up to be a year when there will be higher numbers of freshmen playing. We will see. :coffee:

Fan, I'll admit it, I definitely was short-sighted on my analysis. I agree with your sentiments. Hill and staff, have done an amazing job finding these players. Weber is a great destination for recruits. They will compete and play right away, for a program playing for championships and most importantly getting an excellent education! We are on the right path! Can't wait for September!! Go Cats!
