2017 Recruiting

Stone Smart already committed to NAU which is understandable as we have 7 or 8 QB on our roster which includes the new recruits. It is possible a QB on the current roster has left the program(not sure). Hopefully one of these QB can step up.

Parker has recd 3 offers not sure if he has made a decision.

I've been waiting for 28yrs. for a two year consecutive winning season. My advice, don't plan your enthusiasm around it.

Not going to matter which QB/RB/WR are going to step up until the OLine gets fixed ... period. 2+ yards per carry in some games will not get it done and the A gap and B gap pressure allowed killed that offense... as did dual (as in dueling) OC's ...

Some of these recruits are really impressive. They had a lot of other offers from FBS and BSC teams, I'm encouraged !

We usually have excellent recruiting classes. The problem we have is coaching, preparation and game intensity/focus......... or lack of it.

Every year the back slapping good job on recruiting turns into a 2-9 Fall campaign.
 
Montaz Thompson RB from Pittsburg HS has committed to the Hornets. He had 28 TD his senior year. Total rushing yards over 1600. Looks like a nice catch

Life as a FCS school when it comes to recruiting..the 3 star recruit Tysyn Parker has decommitted to the Hornets and is now going to San Jose St.
 
Elijah Dotson from Antelope gave his verbal to Weber St and just decommitted to Weber and committed to the Hornets. With Elijah, Montaz and the RB that is transfering from Duke Joseph Ajeigbe(3 star out of HS) there will be some nice running backs in the program....Go Hornets!!
 
Wow...29 recruits with only 8 seniors showing on the roster. We lost a large number of players, which makes one wonder "why". I know there's always turnover at FCS schools but that seems high to me.

Cassell hurt again with shoulder, imagine maybe done
Merker we clearly saw he can't play QB

Ketteringham is really bad in 2016,

In conclusion 3 QBs from last year could be on way out looks like

For the amount of players that signed. Had a chance to talk to some administrators and they said football is now at 63 scholarships. The school has operated off 59. That is an extra 4. If Hornets could split them in half that is 8 players plus 8 players leaving last season. Also doesn't count that natural attrition that happens and how many will grey shirt. Liku was on last years class. He is just starting = Grey Shirt

Your 2016 analysis ... Kniffen left with two years left ... What does that say? He flat out won the job in 2015 but was mauled and had his career cut short ... He played well despite your analysis ... You see there are 11 players on offense at any one time and they all have a job.. Cassel had his chance but was also mauled ... Ketteringham tore it up in 2015 despite having his redshirt pulled and not having any reps coming in ... Why was 2016 different from 2015 offensively ? It's called duel OC's ... Add in an incestual element and boom ! Offense and power struggle got worse every week ... Ketteringham, cassel, merker, and kniffen were caught in middle and it showed ... There were very good offensive moments ... Robinson in second half of season especially vs psu, Ketteringham had 370 vs wo, 300 plus passing and 100 rushing vs Isu , great comeback vs Montana state and they put up 47 on cal poly ... The freggin defense was the most pathetic in history ... And btw it is not lawanson's defense ...
