2019 Predictions

San Jose St. (L)

Washington St. (L)

Sac State (W?). If our quarterback isn't hurt by this point we might have a W only losing by 3 last year.

South Dakota (L). 43 to 28 last year

Idaho (L).

Northern Arizona (W) We have had the lumberjacks number lately

Eastern Washington (L). Have we ever beaten this team since moving up?

Portland State (L).

Idaho State (W). We are like 6 and 5 against the Bengals the last 11 years which is by far the best record we have.

Montana State (L) Too much talent in Bozeman.

North Dakota (L) The Mighty Souix (Hawks) will take the W before heading to the MVC

Cal-Poly (L) The Triple Option is pretty tough when you can't stop the run.

So maybe 2-3 W's. I hope the bears prove me wrong.

Go Bears!

Okay, I'll bight. I think the season is too dependent on Knipp's health. Collins believes if he stays healthy we will be a playoff team. That's a lot to ask for a guy who has not been healthy in 3 years. The new offense doesn't allow him to hold on to the ball as long, and so maybe that will help him stay upright. This is year 2 of the defense under Marty English, so I look for an improvement. This is how I see our season..

1. SJSU - W/L. I think this is a toss-up. I think the Spartans won one game last season and they lost to UC-Davis.

2. WSU - L.

3. Sac State. W. I hate losing to the Hornets because we shouldn't. They have a good QB and all-conference running back, so it will be a test for our defense.

4. South Dakota. W. I like our chances at home.

5. Idaho. L.

6. NAU. L. We have a difficult time winning in Flag. They have a new coaching staff so I'm not sure if they're rebuilding.

7. Eastern Washington. L. Too good of a team.

8. PSU. W. Homecoming win.

9. Idaho State. L. They're a very good team at home, and we're horrible in domes.

10. Montana State. W. I'm gonna say upset of the year.

11. UND. W/L. Toss up.

12. Cal Poly. W.

I haven't watched our opponents like everyone else has so I'm having to make guesses based strictly off of numbers and what I think our team will shape up to be.

SJST- Toss up. I think we have a legit shot. They were horrible last year. One of the worst FBS teams in every way possible. I see nothing they've done to get better, and we have.

Washington St.- Moral victories don't count so I gotta go with an L here.

Sac St- W. I'd feel more comfortable if it was a home game, but I think we pull it off.

SD- W. First home game. Excited crowd and team.

Idaho- W. Got a little win streak and everybody feels good.

N. Arizona- Could go either way. We SHOULD win, but, this is the kind of game that makes me nervous. I can see the boys losing their egos get the better of them after a win streak and go into someone else's house and get their asses handed to them.
And it'd be easy to look ahead to...

Eastern Wa- L. They're just good. We ain't there yet.

Portland St.- W. I think it will be a battle, but being at home gives us enough of an advantage to take the win.

Idaho St.- L. I think they'll be pretty decent and it's on the road.

Montana St.-L.

N. Dakota-L. I want to say it's a win but I just can't make myself do it.

Cal Poly-W. I think we finish the season with a W at home.

So I've got us at 5-5 with 2 games that I think could go either way. If we split them to go 6-6 I'd be pretty happy with that.

Okay, I'm going to try and be more active in here this season.

San Jose St. - The Spartans are terrible but I don't think they're as bad as UNC. If there is any indicator for hope this season it will be seen in this game. - Loss

Washington St. - Nope! - Loss

Sac State - Fight out of the bottom starts here. - Win

South Dakota - Eh, nope. Loss

Idaho - Loss to possible win....Loss

Northern Arizona - They will be improved this year. Loss

Eastern Washington - Nope! - Loss

Portland State - I'm picking a win because it's in greeley and Portland has historically had issues finishing. - Win

Idaho State - The Bangles should be improved. The QB situation could be the deciding factor - Loss

Montana State - Talent...depth...history... - Loss

North Dakota - (see Montana State but with less history) - Loss

Cal-Poly - I'm going to ride or die here... - Win

3-9 overall. Anyone want to pass the hat for a new coach. Hate to say it but I don't see this team winning more than three or four games.

If Knipp can stay healthy and produce, there might be a chance for UNC to squeak out a win here and there. But I see another long one or two win season. Hope I'm wrong though.
