George Tarlas is transferring. Another loss for the Cats.
This will be a thing all accross the country for the next few years, due to the Covid year. How programs respond will be the key. :coffee:
Oldrunner these transfers have nothing to do with covid. These players are seeing the team going in the wrong direction in the spring it started and the fall was the same story no improvement and maybe even took a step back in the fall that is the problem.
Listening to Jay Hill after the games he kept saying the coaches weren't putting the players in position to succeed or not getting the ball to the right players. I think he knows he needs to make changes we will see if he can do it or not

I was speaking in general terms about the numbers of players who will be graduating with eligibility left.

Sounds like you have spoken directly with Tarlas. If you know why he is interested in getting an advanced degree elsewhere, please fill us in. Don't keep your inside information a secret.

I'm sure that there will be other players leaving as well. Could be all sorts of reasons. Happens every year and we usually don't hear why. I think you should start keeping a list and share all of the reasons with us. :tothehand:

I don’t know if anyone here has direct inside knowledge Olds but it doesn’t take a genius to see the program backpedaled hard from Fall 19’ to Fall of 21’. The spring season turned out to be a joke and exposed the loss of good coaches we had and it continued into this fall season. Hammer is a complete turd of an OC, Myers is a pitiful OL coach, and Dyson helped the secondary regress big time. I will admit the talent isn’t as good as prior years but that reflects on recruiting and the coaches. Lack of talent reflects in both the secondary, both lines, and even in the QB room. We’ve missed with transfers so far with Jordan Allen, Randall Johnson, Grimes, Olave, etc.. being busts, and having Harris, Morgan, Tarlas, and even Constantine leave they were obviously unhappy with the coaches and direction. Constantine stunk anyway but having key contributors leave is never a good sign. Coach Hill MUST replace the above coaches at a minimum and hopefully that’ll help convince some of the younger players/recruits we can return to the success of prior years and not this stint of ugliness we experienced this entire year. Overall, this years team gets a D on the field and an F from the coaches. Poor execution at many times by the players with awful prep/playcalling by the coaches.

WOW! Do they even deserve to be breathing the same air or walking the same earth as the rest of us enlightened beings?

Well Olds I constantly see you post the lamest and worst takes on this board. You seem to constantly beat the drum of optimism without looking at plain fact in your face. You blast and laugh at schools like SUU when we win and yet try and stay captain positive when we get our asses kicked by Davis, Mont. St., etc..

My thoughts are you either truly don’t watch these games or are blind and have someone with rose glasses describe the scenes to you. I like how you rewatched a game and said we have really good kids waiting in the wings yet we went 6-5 this year and went from a Top 10 team to out of the playoffs in no time. You can be a fan without being stupid to the issues facing the team. You constantly blast the OL (which are awful) yet defend the coaches who put the flaming trash out on the field. My thoughts are you’re a coaches parent or a parent of a kid who once played for WSU. Either way I can spray rose perfume on a turd for ya if you want but it’ll still be a turd!! I have a right to my opinions as do you but I personally think mine are more based in fact then feelings.

I'm not trying to defend anybody. I point out the problems as I see them, but I refuse to call out individuals. Our coaches and administrators, who's jobs are on the line, can make all those calls. I do get a little pissy when I hear other people doing that. Mostly, you are making good points. It's when you take the next step and start calling out individuals, that I get my knickers in a knot.

Logan Lutui has entered the transfer portal.
I saw that. It's too bad, I think he showed some promise. It will be interesting to see where he lands. I wish him the best.

This one is different from the Grad Transfers we have seen.

Speaking of transfers, I expect we will be hearing about Transfers coming into our program and enrolling this semester. I'm sure that they would like to get those who can do spring ball in. I'm sure there will also be some who come in for the summer/fall camp. We are reloading at several positions.

Not sure where we sit on returning missionaries.
