George Tarlas is transferring. Another loss for the Cats.
This will be a thing all accross the country for the next few years, due to the Covid year. How programs respond will be the key.
Oldrunner these transfers have nothing to do with covid. These players are seeing the team going in the wrong direction in the spring it started and the fall was the same story no improvement and maybe even took a step back in the fall that is the problem.
Listening to Jay Hill after the games he kept saying the coaches weren't putting the players in position to succeed or not getting the ball to the right players. I think he knows he needs to make changes we will see if he can do it or not
I was speaking in general terms about the numbers of players who will be graduating with eligibility left.
Sounds like you have spoken directly with Tarlas. If you know why he is interested in getting an advanced degree elsewhere, please fill us in. Don't keep your inside information a secret.
I'm sure that there will be other players leaving as well. Could be all sorts of reasons. Happens every year and we usually don't hear why. I think you should start keeping a list and share all of the reasons with us. :tothehand:
I don’t know if anyone here has direct inside knowledge Olds but it doesn’t take a genius to see the program backpedaled hard from Fall 19’ to Fall of 21’. The spring season turned out to be a joke and exposed the loss of good coaches we had and it continued into this fall season. Hammer is a complete turd of an OC, Myers is a pitiful OL coach, and Dyson helped the secondary regress big time. I will admit the talent isn’t as good as prior years but that reflects on recruiting and the coaches. Lack of talent reflects in both the secondary, both lines, and even in the QB room. We’ve missed with transfers so far with Jordan Allen, Randall Johnson, Grimes, Olave, etc.. being busts, and having Harris, Morgan, Tarlas, and even Constantine leave they were obviously unhappy with the coaches and direction. Constantine stunk anyway but having key contributors leave is never a good sign. Coach Hill MUST replace the above coaches at a minimum and hopefully that’ll help convince some of the younger players/recruits we can return to the success of prior years and not this stint of ugliness we experienced this entire year. Overall, this years team gets a D on the field and an F from the coaches. Poor execution at many times by the players with awful prep/playcalling by the coaches.
