Doesn't mean he's not committed to USU. But, offers can still be extended until LOI is signed. He committed way early so you never know what might happen.

I understand all of that, but I don't think we would have extended a full offer if he were still 100% in USU's camp. Reached out?, sure, but only offered if he indicated his availability. Something happened between him and USU. It's not real important to know what happened, but something did.

I getcha. Nothing on his twitter profile about being committed to USU.

It's a mistake to commit a whole year to year and a half early. Most schools wouldn't offer a kid who's already committed somewhere. You just kill your recruitment by committing that early.

Josh looks like a really great fit for WSU and seems to be exactly the kind of WR who has been successful here. He has very good speed and great hands. He sure looks like a can't miss sort of guy for us. Nice get coaches. Keep up the good work. :clap: :clap: :clap:
 
Recruiting over the next few years is going to be messed up due to the pandemic and the extra years of eligibility granted to all current athletes. Far fewer HS seniors will be signed and the transfer portal will become a bigger thing in all sports. The full impact is still uncertain, but it will be significant. Many P5 prospects may slip to G5, and G5 to FCS. I think that is fairly certain. Also, due to not being able to make visits, many will make poor choices and will be hitting the portal. I think the December signing period will only be used, by all levels, for 'can't miss' guys. As uncertain as it is for schools, it is just as uncertain for the prospects. When it is all said and done, there will be some high quality walk on players. More so than most years. :coffee:
