2025 Fall Camp Thread

Preseason rankings (that count) were released today. We’ll enter the season ranked #15.

While I understand the continuing impact of last year's record, given the incoming talent and probably much-improved coaching staff, it really hurts to see us ranked behind the Manure Pile.

Probably accurate at this point, but it still hurts. That said, I have a feeling that by mid-season, we're going to leave them far behind....

My Saturday evening plans fell through so I was able to catch a good chunk of the scrimmage this past weekend. Hornetsports recap, here are my observations:

Rashada's accuracy is next level. Hitting the targets with ease in the drills and dropping some absolute dimes in tight windows during the scrimmage. He made some plays but its obvious the passing game is still trying to gel.

The QB2 battle is wide open. Hard to tell who would be next up at this point. Of the QB2 group, Williams is the best scrambler/runner, Sprague has the strongest arm, Malone looked confident considering he is a true freshman. All of them made some plays in one fashion or another.

Every running back that touched the ball made some plays. Incredibly deep and talented at this position. We've had plenty of solid running backs throughout our history but nowhere near as many on the roster at one time as we do now. This is very exciting to watch, no doubt Coach Marion will get creative in getting the ball into these guys hands.

Trenches look very big on both sides of the ball. Lots of high energy and good effort players.

Secondary looks very solid. The coverage was pretty tight on almost every pass play, safeties did a good job ball hawking on the longer developing pass routes.

Place kicking game should be fine. I didn't see a miss in the handful of attempts that I saw.
