2025 Offseason Portal Tracker

Damn!! We’re really being very forgiving and hoping for the best these days sheesh.

Here’s the link to incident. It’s not uncommon for football players to get into trouble, but this is just cowardly. These kids are cowards for this, football players are suppose to be tough not some weak ass bullies preying on someone that’s outmatched 2 vs 1.

That is pathetic. There is a difference between making a mistake and having horrible judgment/character

I do think the kid should get another chance but he should be removed immediately if he can’t follow the rules. this is d1 football, you’re expected to be an elite kid. Idk about the kids playing nowadays, in my time, football players we would never chase down a scared student, we would just respond if someone brought a situation to us and couldn’t avoid. As a d1 player, you should love a physical challenge, not chasing down scared a gazelle, there’s no glory in that, it’s stupid

A lot of our players in the portal are getting BSC and G5 offers. Looks like Mason Brosseau might be the hottest commodity, Coleman Kuntz lots of options too.

Yeah if you watch his senior hs tape on hudl, this guy plays just like Gronk
I’ve seen online where a lot are wondering how we’re getting these P4 type players. It’s not about the money, it’s about playing time and cashing that in later. No one gets better by sitting usually (back up players are not making that much, even at p4). That’s why a lot of players like Kuntz and Mason B will do well next year because even though they’re not as highly rated, there in game experience makes a big difference

6'8 370 is a LARGE human being. He was preseason all conference at Charlotte after transferring from Florida. Looks like he was the starting LT before getting injured.

This is a MAJOR loss for our program. A great kid and a hellova a player.

I want to trust this new staff... but we are running off a lot of good kids and good students to give guys second chances. I hope it all works out, but I am a little squeamish on this.
this one is the biggest loss so far. There isn’t a lot of good underclassmen lbs available in portal, tough to replace

No small part of why a kid chooses a school is the culture and their relationship with the coach. In large athletic programs, the culture is built in and carries on for the most part from coach to coach. Most of the SEC programs, Ohio State, Michigan, etc.

With a smaller profile school like Sac State, someone like Marion can come in and establish a culture, which he has done astonishingly fast. Since the culture has been upended with Marion, it stands to reason some kids have to rethink where they want to play and start transferring out. Some also may have realized they weren’t going to get the playing time they expected when they first got here under Taylor or Thompson.

As far as the type of player Marion is bringing in. Big. Fast. Phenoms needing a second chance. If Sac is going Independent, they have to win fast. No time for a slow buildup. The challenge is if you get too many of the special circumstances players, they may tip the culture scale in the wrong direction. Good luck Marion....

The single biggest factor that will heal all wounds? Winning. If you start losing with question mark character guys, it all comes crashing down.
