Drinkall is the coach I wanted for Eastern before Best got hired. A little surprised he would tap Chapin but he did run a heavy option offense at kanas wesleyan and army...
I thought adimora was going to be the next great back and he didn't see the field this season in a run heavy offense... so tired of best
their* playing time.I do not see any of these transfers a reflection of Best losing the locker room. Most were players who were probably told there playing time would be limited going forward. Kekoa was a bit of a surprise but wanted to be a full time QB, I imagined.. Maybe thought he could get some dollars but clearly took a step back with Tennessee Tech. Jett will be utilized at Nevada as he was a blocking TE. Tuna was another surprise. Frankly, as an RB, I thought as big as he was he danced too much when he hit the line.
Going forward I suspect Juco is the preferred route for players who don't have grades/ test scores out of high school. Power schools will likely start parking players in junior colleges if the NCAA continues to have junior college play not count towards the four year eligibility limits. This kinda sucks. Believe most every team is effected but teams with losing seasons and outlook for the following season has a potential bad effect. Wortham really hurts and Tuna baffles me I'm uncertain what is going to happen on oline next year and the list goes on. I hope Best gets his staff in order and gets a fc'ing defense. Hope he has resources to find portal and transfers whish I've been calling for the last 3 years. Ive seen teams turn it around and when I look at those rosters it's unreal the number of new players picked up and they manage to coach them up to be comptetive. Idaho and Montana State really utilized picking up good players from all over. Is prop 48 still going?...lol
he lost it when guys like Ojoh started transferring... he's lost more depth and talent that was sitting on the bench over the years than we can quantify. his coaching turnover is horrendous, which also impacts the locker room. it's not lost on me that you can't please all players all the time. when I look at the combined coaching and player exodus since the natty run, it leads me to conclude best isn't what he projects publicly and many players figure that out. don't think you should compare this to other schools portal entrants in general but we can see where the ships sinking at places like Wazzu through coach and player losses but that's not the case in high profile schools like Oregon, Texas, Bama etc.. where every player is a likely starter somewhere (side note: Wazzu scored with the SDSU coach hiring.)My input above was directed at your comment about Best losing the locker room because kids were entering the portal. If you believe that this is the case then every coach in college football has lost their locker room.
Yea because the quality of the player or if they are a starter or how long they've been around the program somehow doesn't matter. Only simply if "a player goes into the portal" Sure, a RS lineman who never saw the field entering the portal means the same as all the starters on offense entering the portal for their final year of eligibility. My input above was directed at your comment about Best losing the locker room because kids were entering the portal. If you believe that this is the case then every coach in college football has lost their locker room.
