The list was generated using teams with 9/13/25 open dates. Is this list based on a random search of schools with open dates?
While it may not be the most attractive game for us to look at on the schedule like getting excited about matching up vs South Dakota St… I do like the idea for of playing teams in new markets and bringing a different level of fan interest playing a historical HBCU school.
And if were righting the ship next year it still leaves a good opportunity for a counted D1 win for the playoff consideration.
Crap, I didn't even think of that. You're spot on!I wanted Grambling so even if the game was horrible the half time band performance from GSU would be lit!!!
Agreed. I wanted Grambling, too, but forgot about that awesome reason.I wanted Grambling so even if the game was horrible the half time band performance from GSU would be lit!!!
The ship never should have been wronged. Is this list based on a random search of schools with open dates?

Nah, look at the Montuckies schedules. Being in a power conference, we should be feasting on weaker foes to load up on wins to get playoff eligible. The big games are the top BSC programs in conference play. The Mercyhurst game (1 and done) is where it's at.The ship never should have been wronged.
The schedule should be at the level we compete at to get valuable wins against ranked teams,
If this staff can’t compete then we have the wrong staff. South Dakota state should be booked.
I prefer making a good pay day $$ against teams that we have a chance to beat.Nah, look at the Montuckies schedules. I think we'll always have an FBS pay game, but we must avoid 2 FBS pay games in a season.I prefer making a good pay day $$ against teams that we have a chance to beat.
If our budget doesn’t need the extra $500-700K then play the tune up games.
Why?! No advantage with an opening loss on any level.I can’t find this posted anywhere, but Jason Ross on the Stingers Up Podcast that the Hornets will play 12 games next year and open on the road @ South Dakota State on August 30th. ?!?!
If it’s a tough game with over a 70% chance of the game being a Loss. Why schedule that unless it’s a Mid level G5 FBS get us a payday!!!Why?! No advantage with an opening loss on any level.
I heard this as well. SDSU will be graduating a lot of players this offseason...not sure it will matter though. I wonder if it is a home and home or just a single roadie.I can’t find this posted anywhere, but Jason Ross on the Stingers Up Podcast that the Hornets will play 12 games next year and open on the road @ South Dakota State on August 30th. ?!?!
The EWU and Portland State games are within driving distance for me, so I'm liking that.Okay, so the entire schedule is set...? It looks like we bought out the Lamar game (SDSU paid?).
8/30 @ South Dakota State
9/6 @ Nevada
9/13 vs. Mercyhurst
9/20 vs. Central Arkansas
9/27 vs. Cal Poly
10/4 BYE
10/11 @Weber
10/18 vs. Northern Colorado
10/25 vs. Montana
11/1 @ Eastern Washington
11/8 @ Portland State
11/15 vs. Idaho
11/22 @ UC Davis
BIGGEST Takeaway... Between 9/7 and 11/1, the Hornets only are away from Sacramento for 2 total days to visit Weber.
We miss NAU, Idaho State, and MSU. Who knows what rosters will look like, but going into Weber game 3-2 would be a WIN.
Best Case... 7-5
Worst Case... 2-10
