The OL will be solid and the QB position has much more depth than last year's debacle. Last year's debacle after Costelli going down is on the coaches after watching Box's QB performance against Portland State when given a valid game plan. But the QB debacle hid one of most glaring issues which was showing before Costelli went down, a defense that was one of the worst in the FCS against the run. Even with Box's performance against PSU which resulted in most total yards for the season and opened up a run game along with the passing game, the D gave up over 350 yards rushing. Similar rushing numbers were given up against NAU (317) the week before and EWU (339) before that. Not even looking at the passing yards given up but all three games had over 500 yards total offense for the opponents. That isn't a UNC QB issue, that is a D issue that was hidden by the QB issue. If UNC doesn't fix the defense this year, it will not matter who the QB is because Lamb offenses have not been able to score enough to keep up with a poor defense.
