#3 EWU vs Montana: GDT

Their defense is basically doing the same thing they did last season with the overload blitz, etc. Gubrud needs to start seeing the field a little better to be able to read that and get the ball out. I thought that would be our strong point in this game but he's getting too focused on his primary receiver.
 
Yup, even if it's just a little dump off to the RB for 2-3 yards it's better than taking those big hits. One thing's for sure, Gubrud is a tough kid.
 
I mentioned it before, but I really think he has had some opportunities to escape that pressure and get out of the pocket, but it seems like he's determined to stay in there.

Yeah, gotta wonder if it is in the gameplan. Maybe the coaches are trying to reel back Gubrud's rush attempts a bit.
 
Another thing I've noticed is that we've not seen a lot of zone-read in this game. Or many run/pass option plays.
 
Nice catch by the UM receiver. That corner needs to have a little more ball awareness. Could have easily batted it down.
