This will be a heck of a week and will determine if the trip to Montana is for a regular season Big Sky title or a 2nd place bid to have a bye in the conference tournament.

Jan. 31 at Northern Arizona 6:35 PM
Feb. 3 Eastern Washington 7:05 PM
Feb. 5 Portland State 7:05 PM

Now, we NEED to win all three of these, and probably have to win out in conference in order to host.

Yeah, the way Montana is playing, these 3 games are a must. Hopefully Montana will drop one of their next 2 where they go:

2/3/2011 @ Weber State
and
2/5/2011 @ Northern Arizona

Kind of scary too is that NAU has had more than a week to prepare for this game. Hopefully that means they come out a little flat....

NAU has had a 9 day break since the PSU game then plays 3 games in 6 days. Horrible scheduling on the part of the Big Sky Conference. Or is it individual athletic departments responsible for scheduling? Not exactly sure. That being said, I am ecstatic that the game against the Bears is live on Fox Sports AZ and the Grizzlies and Bobcats games later in the week are on Fox Sports tape delay. That much Lumberjacks coverage down here in Cardinals/Suns/Diamondbacks/ASU/UofA land is unheard of.

Saturday was a brutal way to lose to WSU. I can't imagine UNC will let it affect them and expect a tough game tomorrow night. Wish I was able to drive up the mountain for the game but seeing it on tv's a close second.

Good luck, Bears team/fans.

Scheduling this season is really bad but it all started when UNC joined and gave us an odd amount of teams. It isn't UNC's fault but the Big Sky can't get a schedule that works. Maybe with SUU and UND it will get better. Maybe the Sunday Altitude games is the issue but it sucks.

Before you guys joined you just played 2 teams every Thurs/Sat. No Sunday or anything weird. Also you always played at the regular travel parters:

UM/MSU, WSU/ISU, Sac/NAU, PSU/EWU

Wow, that makes a lot of sense actually.

Geez I am still pissed!! Weber fans must have been freakin slobbering over themselves with that ersatz shot at the end of the game. I believe our Bears will rebound and beat NAU. I guess we have to cheer for Weber to beat Moontana. Go Bears

If South Dakota would have joined instead of going MVC/Summit it would have been better travel wise, but with only North Dakota joining we are still left with uneven teams, at first when I thought USD and UND were both coming I was ok with it, but now that SD is gone I kinda wish ND was to. If we had only added SUU as a full member that would give us 12 Football and 10 basketball Perfect numbers, then the travel partners for hoops would most likely be

EWU/PSU
UM/MSU
ISU/UNC
WSU/SUU
NAU/CSUS

The game is on TV tonight, NAUTV (Channel 9411) on Dish Network and Fox College Sports (Channel 617 on DirecTV and I'm not sure of it's location on cable).

AWESOME!!!! I would not have seen that.

Thank you.

And a little bit of breaking news about 30 minutes before tip-off in Flagstaff...

UNC will travel to New Mexico State from the WAC for their BracketBuster game on Saturday, February 19th, time yet to be determined. No TV for this game unforunately, Montana gets the TV game when they travel to Long Beach State....

I noticed that. I didn't know that a return leg of the match-up in 2012 was part of the deal.

Yeah, I like it. Obviously, we were all hoping for television, but the travel is relatively close. And New Mexico State has some talent, they're currently sitting in second place in the WAC. I think it should be a good match-up. But first thing's first, big game tonight. Have to take down the Lumberjacks.

Looks like they moved the basketball team into the volleyball gym while they remodel the skydome.

"NAU will shut down the Skydome, which first opened in 1977, for at least six months starting in December of this year for numerous renovations. The Dome will close following the 2010 football season and fall commencement and won't re-open until August 2011."

Bit of a sluggish start. Kaba with all 7 of the Bears points.

Yeah, I like that NAU really pushes the play. Even after a made shot by UNC they quickly move it up the court. We need to be on our toes.

There is also a possibility that NAU will never again play basketball in the Walkup Skydome, I Believe NAU has plans on building a brand new arena for basketball only, I think the seating is supposed to be like 5-6K

Listening to the KFKA feed on the internet with the tv on mute - much better than listening to the NAU tv broadcasters.
