We could really use a couple of wins out of this 4 game road trip but they will not come easy:

Nov. 26 at Colorado State 7:00 PM

Dec. 1 at UC Riverside 8:00 PM

Dec. 5 at Northern Iowa 7:00 PM

Dec. 8 at Wichita State 7:00 PM

Bears are horrible this season...again. If this continues, Hill needs to get fired. Also, Paul Garnica is a d2 player at best. He's the most over-rated recruit in Bears history.

We seem to always schdule a very challenging non conference schdule. This might help in the conference schdule but winning a couple games against someone other than SoutherEastern NM would be nice also... :(

A little premature, to say the least. Had a team with one senior last year, and no seniors this year. I think UNC can be a top 3 Big Sky team this year.

I don't know what game you watched, but everyone I know that was there thought tonight was a solid performance by the Bears against a bigger, more physical and more experienced team. Larry Eustachy said he was more impressed by UNC that he was by Montana. I thought the issues we had tonight were very, very fixable: We missed some defensive rotations, lacked a little bit of leadership in the floor, and mostly we were a Big Sky team taking on a team that can contend for the Mountain West title. Our issue this year has mainly been dealing with opposing bigs, and there isn't a Leonard Washington or Colton Iverson in the Big Sky, so I think we'll be fine.

Garnica's just our J.R. Smith, he'll look like the best player on the team one game and, well, like a D2 player the next. When he's good, he's really good, when he's bad he's REALLY bad.

The season we went to the NCAA's we had a run where we lost 7 of 9 out of conference games. I almost look at it like the pre-season so I am not too upset about this tough start.

Montana would beat us by 20. Eustachy was probably drunk as usual. Garnica is a D2 player and there's no way in hell he should EVER start in front of Svihovec. Tevin is probably our only true D1 starter. :x

Aside from the Southwest game, take a look at the records so far from all non-conference teams UNC has or will face:

Cal Poly (2-2), however, went into Pauley Pavilion and beat a ranked UCLA team
Wyoming (6-0) Really haven't been tested, we'll see this week when they take on CU in Laramie.
CSU (5-0), good win on the road against Wash, could very well be a Mtn West title contender this year.
UC Riverside (1-6), UNC better come away with a when against the Highlanders.
Northern Iowa (3-3), however, two of there three losses by less than five pts to #2 Louisville & #19 Memphis (At the time)
Wichita State (6-0); Wins against VCU (on the raod) and an improved 5-1 Iowa team.

In my opinion, it's too early to tell how good this team will actually be, we'll have to wait for the conference games to start. The fact that Eustacy thought this team was just as good, if not better than Montana is a testament to how talented this team really can be, and it's really a a maturation process (hopefully sooner than later). The only person who is drunk is you Mr. Beardown.

I remember when that NCAA tourney team went to Moby, they looked worse than we did last night, lost 75-61 and it was only that close because Beitzel scored 29.

Yikes... let's hope that you have never had a fault you have been able to overcome.

Here are two players stats last year:

Player 1 = 10.8 PPG, 2.7 RPG, 2.4 APG, 1.1 SPG, 2.3 TO per game, 46% FG, 39% 3PT (29.4 minutes per game)
Player 2 = 9.3 PPG, 2.0 RPG, 2.4 APG, 1.0 SPG, 2.3 TO per game, 44% FG, 49% 3PT (24.4 minutes per game)

The next year, through 4 games:

Player 1 = 10.8 PPG, 1.8 RPG, 3.0 APG, 0.3 SPG, 3.3 TO per game, 47% FG, 0/4 3PT, 25.8 minutes per game
Player 2 = 8.8 PPG, 2.0 RPG, 2.5 APG, 0.8 spg, 1.3 TO per game, 47% FG, 25% 3PT, 18.8 minutes per game

Which one is the only D1 starter on the team, and which one is the D2 player again?
