#4 Weber State v. #22 North Dakota

ND's top two WRs are out for this game. They will be even more of a running team on Saturday. I think our D will be up for it. :coffee:

2nd and 3rd receivers are out. Wanzek is the man this year. And unless he got injured in practice, he should be playing. Santiago is also out.

We play man D in the secondary and seldom double up on anyone. The problem for most QBs is how to figure out what the safeties and linebackers are doing when they don't have an assigned man to cover. Our D tends to mix things up a bit. So far, we have been good at limiting other teams run game. A good passing attack has given us problems from time to time. This is shaping up to be an interesting game. Our O has had its moments, but has mostly struggled. With a little stronger O we would likely only have one loss right now. :coffee:

This is a huge game for the Cats. For the third time this season, going up against a ranked opponent, the Cats are being pinned as the underdog. Regardless of the their #4/5 ranking, it seems that Weber isn't getting a fair shake and most pollsters are thinking (hoping) that the Cats lose. Unfortunately, the loss at NAU hasn't helped the Cats win over a number of these observers. An acquaintance of mine actually told me that it is a bad thing that the Cats beat Eastern and are in the driver seat for a seed. He inferred, for the betterment of the Big Sky, the conference is hoping Weber loses, even if it is to UND (by the way, we should talk about how crap it has been that UND was in the Sky. Total mess since they joined. Happy for them and their chance of going to the MVC.). Yet, UND is not a push over. This is going to be a tough game for the Cats. The OL needs to man up and win a lot of battles. They need to be dominant. It starts with them. To me, the OL has been the issue. You can't run the ball if your OL isn't opening the holes and winning the battle in the trenches. I have a lot of faith in the OL's ability and feel they haven't been playing to their potential. Yes, a QB who can lead and make plays is a necessary part of any offense, and we desperately need Constantine to man up and take that crucial next step. If the offense can turn the corner and get better, I see a dominant win by the Cats. It might take till the middle to end of the 3rd to take control, but if Weber wins, that is when the team will take over.

This doesn't make a lot of sence to me. I would think the BSC would like to have as many seeded teams as they can get. Just because it is not UM or EWU, so what? The games of interest this week are WSU/UND, ISU/MSU, and UM/UCD. Everything else around the BSC is ho hum.

A WSU win tommorow will go a long way toward our goals.

GO WILDCATS

It doesn't look like this game will be streamed.

Pluto and WatchBigSky.com

I haven't been able to get WatchBigSky to work at all this season and Pluto(crap)TV stops the stream every 30 minutes or sooner-- usually sooner and has to be refreshed. Is anyone else not seeing the same things?

Both of UND's first two scores were aided by holds that weren't called. How the ref missed the one on UND'S 2nd score is beyond me. As far as their 3rd score. No excuses defense was burned and burned bad. Defense needs to come back out and insert thier dominance they had early. Offense is playing well.

I'm surprised Weber's backfield isn't taken advantage of more than it is, a decent QB and receivers with size don't seem to have too much trouble with longer throws. I agree with NOgden's assessment of the OL this year too, they do not give a passing QB near enough time. There was a 3rd down in the 2nd Q where only 2 UND DLinemen were rushing and both got to Constantine immediately. Not sure if the punt team has the same o-line personnel but there are 2-4 UND players getting real close to the punts with ease. These lines, DBs and Safeties have got to step it up.

Very nice 4th Q play, Weber. Constantine much, much better play today. Assuming they hang on as do the Griz vs UCD, very good day for the Wildcats!

(As I make this post Tuttle's kick blocked and returned for a TD :ohno: )

14 of UND'S 30 points was because of poor SP play by us. In all reality Weber held UND to 3 points in the 2nd half.

Very proud of the offense today Weber needed them to step up and they did.

Special teams has been bad the last 3 games.

Well, let me be the first to drink a tall glass of shut up juice. Way to go offense! Big win! Hopefully this is the game offense turns the corner and doesn’t look back. Can’t wait for next Saturday to see this team in action again. Go Wildcats!

It seemed to me like we were playing against a 16 man opponent for most of the game. I've never seen that crew before, I don't know where they are from, but they seemed bias to me. Maybe they just had a bad day. I think I'll go with that. :wall:

Could only listen to the game today. I'm done trying to stream games anyway. The conference really really needs to get better streaming somehow, it's awful and very frustrating. I'd even pay a fee for something better.

Best game of the year for the offense. Great to see. If the offense can continue like this we could see another deep playoff run.

Thought it was a bad decision to kick the FG at the end. Three points wouldn't have meant much at that point and too risky. Just run it, kill some clock if you don't get the first, and let the defense finish off the game.

But good win. Win out and we get a seed. Win two of three and we should get a home game. Love the direction we're headed.

The kick off return for a TD was aided by a blown block in the back call. The block that sprung him was clearly in the back. It wasn't even close. It could have been a hold as well, because our, would be, tackler was grabbed around the waist and tackled from behind. GOOD NO CALL REF. :wall: :wall: :wall:

Late in the game, they called us for pass interfearance and hands to the head. The replay showed that neither of those things happened
