#6 Sac @ Colorado State

Yikes, bad throw from Dunni takes away chance to really bust this thing open…

Yeah, Jake has got to be better than that.

With a FG attempt essentially a sure thing, there’s just no need to take a risk like that.

CSU had zero life at that point. No need to do anything to give them hope.

Then, the defense gives up 19 (on 2nd and 21) after a big sack to, again, give the Rams hope — which they then converted into a TD.

Gotta clean that stuff up.

Also, gotta get Skattebo more than 4 carries. It’s like a broken record……

Gotta take this opening kick of the 2nd half and convert it into a TD to dampen their hopes.

I decided to put my two cents in regarding Troy Taylor and his future as Sac State's head football coach. I believe he will fulfill his contract and then move on to a more reputable university. I say this because Sac State doesn't have strong interest from the Sacramento community (whether it's the students, the alumni, businesses and individuals). Coach Taylor will do what he can to keep the Hornet football team a conistent winner, but I don't think it will mean much as far as new facilities or better community interest. So like I said, I'll just enjoy what's happening currently because I know once Mr. Taylor's contract ends, not much will change as far as Sac State's reputation.

Welcome to the board. I largely agree with the post about reputation, but we have an admin that is willing to invest in this program. Whether that can turn into meaningful facilities is something yet to be seen.

41-10 Hornet win. Was out and about with the fam so wasn't able to watch. I listed to the last 20 minutes of the game on the radio and the game was already well in hand by then. Dominating win and a great one for this program at the right time. Hornets are now 8-2 lifetime in the state of Colorado.

SH2.0 might actually finally see one of his preseason predictions of the Hornets running the table come to fruition.

I always go back to 2019 when Taylor talked about his mom moving back here, having deep roots here and building a dynasty here. I could be wrong but I think he is wanting to create a legacy in the community he loves.

This seems a popular opinion. An easy opinion, since the norm is seeking bigger opportunities.

But most those forming this opinion don’t know Troy Taylor, don’t know his motivations, and aren’t factoring in the fact that he’s from this area and took a major pay cut to come back home.

Now, none of the above means TT won’t leave Sac State for an FBS/P5 program. He very well may. And I also don’t know TT’s motivations. However I can see some reasoning for him staying put.

If you’ve heard TT talk about he and his wife wanting to be home while they lived in Washington, the fact that he took a major pay cut to come to Sac State and now that the program is beginning to take flight — I see many reasons why he might stay put.

TT is kinda a different cat. Hopefully he’s the type that finds it to be a bigger, more fulfilling challenge to build a program versus joining an already established one thus being another link in a long chain.

I didn’t read your post before replying above. But it appears we are interpreting things similarly based upon what we’ve heard from TT the past few years.

You missed a very good performance. Definitely some mistakes to clean up, but this program continues to grow right in front of our eyes.

On paper, next week would seem to be a no-brainer ‘W’. However Poly has 2 weeks to prepare for the Hornets and is at home.

Hopefully our Hornets can avoid a let down after this big win and go down South to get another next Saturday!

If not for the Dunni forced throw subsequent lucky bomb, this was seriously a 48-3 game.

It looked like last year’s NAU game. Defense stepped up, we looked superior in all aspects. Bigger guys, faster guys, better play calling, Kyle banging in kicks.

I hope this doesn’t go to our heads - I want 20,000+ to see us undefeated, playing Montana on 10/22.

Side note, The BSC Twitter is tweeting about college game day…. Maybe a miracle and they come to that 10/22 game because the infrastructure is there for the broadcast anyways?

Replay is on the Mountain West Network page.

Impressive showing all around. Hornets completely bullied CSU. Near flawless game at every facet. Hornet offensive line dominated. Great play calling and execution with a little luck at the right times. Only knock was a forced pass on a scramble by Dunniway that resulted in the first Hornet turnover of the year. This game hits the over if not for a few CSU defended passes at the right time.

Defense was solid. Much better open field tackling from a week ago and aside from two big plays by CSU’s playmaking receiver, the Hornets kept CSU in check all game long. Very impressive showing.

Special teams was solid as well. Coverage teams were on it and Fulcher had a great punt return. Sentkowski was on point yet again.

Complete team win. Wow, to dominate an FBS program like that is very impressive.
