The Mustari story in Trib this morning talks about his picks for New AD--Tim Carter, a travelled BB coach who has applied for UNC Coaching position in the past and our own Mike Higgins, plus a host of other water cooler candidates. Story goes on how this process will probably take us into January ! Way too long. This should have been done months ago ! Maybe I'm wrong but why can't this athletic program get its act together !

If that's what it is, I think they'll try to get Joe Glenn. He will be done coaching at So Dak and we can try to convince him to come back as A.D. Although he said he would never be a good A.D. Also, why not mention Hank Brown? I think he did some good things as President and he knows athletics. I have no idea why Mike Higgins is mentioned.

Keep in mind that it will probably be January before one is installed because even though they're hoping to have one named by November, you've till got to give the candidate time to give his notice at his current school, and transition out of his program. A (quality) AD can't and shouldn't just leave for a better job and leave his other school out to dry. With a luck, and a little patience, they'll get their guy.

Why is Higgins even mentioned and how can Mustari seriously think he should be considered for the AD position? Higgins is a great guy and would bring a lot to the University in some capacity...but not as an AD. We all know what happened the last time a guy was hired because he was an Alum even though he wasn't qualified for the position (cough, cough, Collins).

I did like a few of the other's Mustari named, Joe Glenn (long shot at best), Jack Maughan, Mike Bohn and Jim O'Day.

It would be great to get an AD that can figure out how to get rid of the current cancer heading the football program (cough, cough, Collins) and bring in someone who can revitalize the attiude surrounding Nottingham Field!

Who out of the ones mentioned above would provide the best opportunity of swift action? That's where my money and vote would go!

Here's an idea...take the money that is being saved since Hindrichs June resignation and use it to subsidize buying out the remainder of Collins' contract; fire his ass and bring in somebody that can move this program forward!

Just having a new regime would bring excitement and anticipation, a better probability of winning games next year than you would have with the status quo. This would result in more alum support and more paying fans! It makes financial sense and provides an overall cost savings! :thumb:

I think Jack Maughan would be a leading candidate. He would be able to afford more alcohol for his problem. Just great.

I would love to have Joe Glenn back as A.D. but I don't think he'd be interested. I would literally throw money at him. I think Da Luca would be great too.
