Adams over Padron

I don't think it should an either or question. They have different strengths and weaknesses. I have faith that coach Baldwin knows how to best use their respective talents. We fans only see a small fraction of what goes into his decision to play one or the other. Baldwin is a former QB and he knows what he's doing.

finally, a voice of reason. What I have been trying to get at is that I dont think KP has been given enough time to rule him out as the number 1. i mean, he got the start versus Idaho and he made some great plays in that game and then has a rough showing against WSU but still had the team fighting down to the wire. Anyone think that game would have gone any differently with Adams in? Doubtful. Yes his completion percentage is not great but he has not had a lot of time at EWU and I am really suprised at how quickly people rule him out as the possible starter. People mention that the offense struggled when KP took over in the second half of Weber but gee, has anyone considered that this may have been something to do with the other team making adjustments at half? Montana stopped us cold in the second half of yesterdays game but I dont see anyone being critical of our game plan?? Bottom line defenses make adjustments. IMO both qb's will get better as the season goes on and neither should be ruled out as a possible starter week by week. Padron is still very much in the conversation and anyone who thinks differently doesnt know wth they are talking about!

I'm in the Adams corner, but for reasons that really have nothing to do with Kyle's talents.

Eastern just flat can't run the ball. The only way we show the ability to run is with him giving Eastern a threat on the scramble. Kyle has a much better arm, but without any draw threat, it's sort of meaningless because teams just play way off in 2-deep. Padron saw the same defenses over and over in his possessions, teams playing way off in two-deep and trying to pressure with 4. And we've struggled against that. Adams forces teams up.

Really, a lot of the problem is we don't get off the ball well and block the run. There were times yesterday we were 5 on 4 and Montana just squeezed off and tackeld us for no gain. That can't happen if you're planning on having a deep run in the playoffs. Teams will just lie deep and take away your throws. Hell, that's what Idaho and WSU did, and except for Kaufman going up and making plays, those games could've had much worse outcomes.

I believe Baldwin has/had a plan all along. Blending these two qb's in such a fashion it will be like we have a third. Don't think the staff doesn't look at what's down the road (the ole one game at a time) may be what they are saying but Baldwin is way beyond that. He has a plan longterm for a run at the title and what games are coming I'm sure he knows what he'd like to do in regards to getting the most out of two Qb's who can make things happen. Sure would hate to prepare for these two....he needs to keep both on the edge and prepared to come into the game at any point...if one goes down we don't miss a beat.
