If you could take the best players at each position from any EWU team to create a super team, what would it look like? State your case. I've only been a fan since 2004, so I'll just list the unanimous picks, and leave the rest for everyone to debate.

QB:
WR1: Brandon Kaufman
WR2: Eric Kimble
WR3:
RB: Taiwan Jones
TE: Nathan Overbay
LT: Michael Roos
LG:
C: Tom Ackerman
RG:
RT: Ed Simmons

DE1: Greg Peach
DE2:
DT1:
DT2:
LB1: JC Sherritt
LB2:
LB3:
CB1:
CB2:
SS: Matt Johnson
FS: Kurt Schultz

K: Felipe Macias
P: Ryan Donckers
KR: Bashir Levingston

QB and WR3 should be a great debate... so many greats to choose from. Erik Meyer, Matt Nichols, Bo Levi, Vernon Adams? Aaron Boyce, Nick Edwards, Cooper Kupp? Kick Returner... Jesse Hoffman? I'm sure Kalm and Vic could add a ton more that I haven't been around to watch or know about.

Ed Simmons
Kurt Shultz
Tom Ackerman

Outside shot at Dion Alexander
Jeff Ogden as WR or kick or punt returner although I know Lamont Brightful could challenge him for that spot.

I would say Taiwan Jones is still debatable at running back, depending on who we had in previous generations. There is a reason Taiwan Jones is not getting reps at RB in the NFL. He is an incredibly explosive athlete, but not very useful blocking in the backfield. Just to make things interesting, I'll throw out the name Jesse Chatman.

Also, for right tackle, Tom Ackerman.

I thought he played center?

According to his hall of fame bio, he started in a lot of places. He did start many times as long snapper. I misread it the first time though, it says he started his senior year at right guard. So I propose Tom Ackerman for right guard.

Jesse Chatman has our highest rushing yards per game and highest net rushing yards, highest rushing yards in a year, and highest rushing yards in a single game.

Wait, are we looking for their positions in EWU, or in the NFL?
Either or, I guess. My thinking was if we were trying to create the most explosive, dominant EWU team to compete at our current level (Big Sky/FCS) using the all-time EWU greats, who would be on that team? While Jesse Chatman was a more consistent RB at both the college and professional level, I think that TJ would be more explosive and valuable on a team including the best OL we've ever had. I only included one RB spot since we're a spread team and rarely go with two back sets. I don't think there's a right or wrong answer, my goal was to spark some debate. I think either Chatman or Jones would be deadly behind an OL featuring Roos, Ackerman, etc.

Buzzard is also a great choice at center!

Where is Larry Weir's all time team?

I went to Eastern in the mid to late 90's. Zero chance I was leaving him off with a name like that.

Great thread topic! QB is kinda a hard choice. Which Payton Award winner do you go with? Outside of them, one could make a very strong case for guys like Harry Leons and Matt Nichols.

 Ok, if I have to go with only one, it'd be Chatman. Jones may be the best pure athlete we've ever had at EWU, but Chatman was the best pure running back. No contest.
