All-Time All-EWU Team

Kicker MUST be Eric Stein, no offense to Felipe Macias. What about Tim Trout at center? He was damn good. Mick Landmark was another great OL, just added to the Hall of Fame. Dick Zornes at safety.

Good work there Dopa.

Some names I remember from the way-back-time-machine of my youth (shut up SE :tothehand: ):

TE: Bobby Picard, Scott Garske - both played in the NFL
RB: Melvin Collins - sounded like a TJ type runner
DE: Frank Staudenraus
DT: Paul Horak

More recent memories:

LB: Bill Altena, Greg Belzer
TE: Jesse Hardt
RB: Mike McKenzie, Rex Prescott - sure Rex got most of the yards and glory, but Mike was a total baller.
CB: Jackie Kellog

Not that these guys would necessarily start but they're in the discussion.

FWIW, I would start Matt Nichols at QB. Best pure passing QB we've had, very intelligent, and made few mistakes. He was also the only 4 year starter in recent memory.

Interception leader who has the school record of 18 is Mike Richter from 1971-75. Believe he still holds it. Was a extremely hard hitting ALL-American at safety.

What's the fun in that?
Prefabricated list :?
I know a lot of thought went into it.

Anyone know what Prescott is doing these day's?

That guy always looked like he was shot out of a cannon. Great change of pace RB! Last time I saw him we were both in Medical Lake for traffic violation class (in the late 90's). :ohno:

I think this is a damn good list. But are our best LBs of all time really our last three consecutive stud linebackers? There must be some good contenders from past teams. How about Greg Belzer?

Yeah, I kinda struggled with the LB's. Sherritt is a no-brainer, but outside of that it is kinda difficult. I honestly think Hamlin and Johnson are way up there on the list, regardless of time period.

I thought Belzer was a DE.

Jake Miller seems to be a better punter

I cheated and looked at the hall of fame list.

Looks good to me. How many points does this team win by on average? :D

Not only was he an outstanding D-lineman the leadership he provided was instrumental in winning the NC.
And that man is...... Tyler Jolley :thumb:

Agreed. He and Renard were a nasty combo to deal with in 2010.

How can you leave Jackie Kellogg off as one of the corners. He was a 2 time 1st Team All big Sky selection as a corner as well as one of the Top 100 players in EWU history. Phenomenal athlete as well as the best feet for a defensive back that I have ever seen.

I put him as a first-teamer on my list. I agree; he's an Eagle legend at this point... a damn fine player. I'd personally say he was the BEST CB Eastern has ever had, and that is with all respect to TJ Lee, Jesse Hoffman, and Isaiah Trufant.

VA has another 2 years like this year and he is a no brainer for the QB list... at this rate, he is going to break a lot, if not all, of the EWU and Big Sky records...

it's going to be a wild ride the next two years with this kid at the helm! he could even surpass the great dave dickenson in some of the record books.

Not sure how you can leave Bo Levi off this list at QB, since he did win us a National Championship, and the Walter Payton award.
