The CFI Shows: Congratulations, Viking fans. You now have an official index ranking you as the worst fans in I-AA. I can’t afford a trip to Disneyworld, but what about a bus to Seaside, OR?
How to improve: You could, say, invite a I-AA.org columnist out to Portland, all-expenses-paid, to a PSU game. VIP treatment also wouldn’t hurt – free cocktails, complimentary smoked salmon… that alone could propel you out of the basement next year.
Upshot: Rather than being sad, or angry, I invite you to rejoice over your newfound fame. This could be the springboard of something special. If my school were so honored, right away I’d get some T-Shirts printed with “The Worst Fans of I-AA” emblazoned across the front. But then again, you’re not good fans, so you probably won’t follow my advice.

I don't blame a guy who wants free Pinot Noir and Microbrews in a unique urban environment from trying any way possible to get the swag...
...but at least he could write about how he came to such a conclusion. If this was a humor column, it at least could manage to be funny. After all, the core of humor is in its honesty.

That is what is considered to be "good fans". In all fairness, UM has great fans who suppport their school and team to the fullest. They also have some fans who are rude, crude, and classless that think being a "good fan" is being a donkey.
The majority are solid, but there is no doubt that what you have posted did indeed occur last season. I know many who also have had to dodge flying objects thrown from the stands into the bench area while playing at UM.
Unfortunately UM does not have a corner on the market for fans who are losers. Every team has some - even ours.

I agree 100% but also understand that when someone says what we want to hear that most will think he is spot on.
