Coach Linder has hired Steve Smiley as the new associate head coach.Coach Smiley comes to UNC from Weber State ( two years ) and Sheridan College ( six years head coach ) and two years at Northern State under UNC great Don Meyer. Welcome coach Smiley
 
I'm usually pretty negative but I agree, I really can't believe it's that bad... first of all they weren't paying players which is obviously for 2 reasons, they pretty much sucked, and nobody cares enough to pay...

So I'm guessing it had to do with meals or phone calls or extra practices or this sort of thing...

Also, if the infractions were that bad it would have leaked by now.
 
If the infractions were meals or phone calls would you have fired your head coach at the beginning of the signing period??
 
I have no idea, I just wonder what it was... I can't make hide nor hair of this...

Hell, if they were paying guys in some crazy way I'd actually be proud of them for trying to win that hard but I highly doubt that's what it was.

I feel the opposite way, at least with the players we have. If we were paying them and we were winning conference championships, cool, but half of this roster is made of players who should not be playing division one.

The rumors I have heard are that coaches were paying tutors and other students to do papers, take tests, etc. for the players.

The other rumor I heard was that players were receiving free meals all over town. In particular at Kenny's Steak House.

1st rumor is pretty serious if true. Second rumor not so much.

But these are just rumors.
