It’s time the CSU redefines itself. It is not 1962 anymore obviously and the state JC’s now fill this role. UC’s have too much power through unquestioned guaranteed funding. CSU funded just like the DMV. Why can’t CSU offer terminal degrees, why can’t CSU be residential in nature, why can’t CSU have extensive research?I agree it is still one of the best deals in education. Just pointing out some people will just look at the percentage increase and not be happy with it.
The transfer to another CSU is an option yes, the CSU charter emphasizes serving the local population. This includes lower entrance standards. Most CSU’s even have some guaranteed admissions for local high schools, just maybe not into impacted majors.
