Well, Seattle Pacific beat Nevada Saturday night, 84-81. And they did it without one of their starters because of an injury suffered vs. EWU. The Banchero kid scored 33 to lead SPU, after getting 38 vs. EWU. I don't know why Big Sky schools missed on that kid (he's from O'Dea High in Seattle), but he was obviously the best player out there in the SPU/EWU game and must have been again on Saturday at Nevada.
While I agree that a D-1 team should not lose to a D-2, the fact is that SPU has a good team regardless of classification. That EWU stayed as close as they did, minus their two best players, could be seen as a positive. Guess we will know for sure at the end of the season in early March.
