Looks to me that Coach Collins (and I'm assuming asst coaches) can get paid significantly more if he puts a winning team out there. All coaches have these incentives to varying degrees. This is from June of 2014 on footballscoop.com (http://footballscoop.com/the-scoop/saturday-june-14-2014-3/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)

Northern Colorado (FCS): Head coach Earnest Collins, Jr., has received a contract extension through 2017. He has a base salary of $117,000, plus $15,000 for home paid attendance of 4,500 or more, $20,000 for an APR of 940 or greater, $2,500 for a team GPA of 2.85 or higher, $1,000 for each win beyond six, $5,000 for a Big Sky championship, $5,000 for winning Big Sky Coach of the Year, $5,000 for an FCS playoff appearance, and $20,000 for an FCS national championship.

I think Coach Collins is a great person having talked to him at length personally and I know he is very excited about what he has this year to work with! Go Bears!!

Sounds to me like he blew a bunch of smoke up your ass

BigBearFan76, maybe he did, maybe he didn't, but I'm not going to be part of the cancer that is on this board. I get it, the team hasn't won in a long time and fans are pissed with the product. But what good does it do for you to bash the coaches, the facilities, the players, etc???? I'm going to get behind them, support them and cheer them on because that's what good fans do. The least you could do is not post negative comments - if you don't have anything nice to say, then just don't post! I think these kids are going to do something special this year - get behind them and be a part of the comeback. GO Bears!

The roar of a home crowd can do wonders in uplifting a team. If you are a true fan, then regardless of your feelings for the coaches you would try to uplift the team. Go to the games, cheer, support the men on the field. If you want to help them play well, them help them feel it. You will have more fun at the games by cheering your team on anyway. The game, after all, isn't about you.
