Beat UNC

Not gonna happen.

You see, Montana just grizzly bears, while UNC has all the bears. That means we have grizzly bears, black bears, polar bears, panda bears, koala bears (not sure how they help the cause, but you get the point...)

score 12 in the 1st half against us and you'll be down by 30 at the break. Truth is that either NAU or UNC would of blown the doors of you guys tonight. I think tomorrow will be more of the same.

Likewise, we hold you to 21 in the first half or outscore you by 27 in the second half and you'll be down 45 at the final buzzer.

Neither UNC or NAU played any defense tonight. The only defense in your game came via fouls. The best defenders on the floor were the guys in the stripes. I think either Weber or Montana would "have" held either UNC or NAU to under 40 tonight.

Point is, two completely different styles in two completely different games. If you're comparing them, first, you're nuts because you can't, but second, if you're going to compare them, you need to compare all facets, not just offense against no defense.

and yes I know it was "only" 18, but still, my point remains the same.

We held you to 45 points, and I think we can do it again. I also think we can score at least 46, so that doesn't bode well for the grizz.

BTW you guys have the softest 7 footer in D1 basketball in Selvig. That kid is straight up afraid to bang down low. 7 feet tall and averages 5 boards a game, that's embarrassing in a conference when you're the tallest guy every single night. What a joke. Kid thinks he is JJ Reddick, pulling up from 3 and shooting 3s off the dribble. The kids soft, just like the grizz are soft. Step your game up Montana, you're going to need it.

No doubt Montana has their hands full playing in Greeley. I don't think that's a surprise to anyone. And if UNC shoots the ball the way they did tonight, it'll be a long evening for the Griz. But if the Griz play D the way they did tonight, UNC will not shoot it anywhere near that well. Montana's defense was just ridiculous tonight.

As for last meetings, let's look at the actual last meeting, when Montana won by 20.

Hmmm...based on your comments on Selvig, I have to assume you don't know a great deal about basketball. Selvig is not expected to be a banger or a rebounder. The Griz rely on BQ (and Ward) for those things. Selvig didn't play well today, but he put up 18 and 7 the last time he played UNC. Every coach in the conference would love to have him on their team. As for being a joke, I know I was laughing pretty damn hard in Missoula when he make your big men look silly.

And Montana soft?? Yeah, obviously I'm engaged in a conversation with someone who doesn't know shit about basketball.

Um...Montana won the game in Missouly by 13, not 20, the final was 55-42. In that game, UNC players not named Devon Beitzel shot 6-for-43 from the floor, I guarantee that WILL NOT happen at Butler tomorrow night.

UNC didn't even shoot the ball well tonight, we were 5-of-16 from 3-point range, that may be good for a Montana team that can't shoot its way out of a paper sack, but for UNC, it's pretty bad, actually.

As for Selvig, someone needs to tell him that he's not a guard. If he ever adopted Dirk Nowitzki's game he'd be practically unstoppable in the Big Sky, but since he hasn't figured that out in three years, he's not likely to at all.

Incidentally, Selvig had 8 boards tonight, equaling the high rebounder for Weber, and only one less than the leader for UNC (who was a guard; where were your big men??).

20/13, 20/17. I think we all get the point.

And yes, I agree UM will have their hands full. But if you don't think the Griz can win, you may have a very, very sad evening tomorrow. Experience means a great deal in these things. Montana has it, and you gotta figure that's worth 5-7 points, about what the home court is worth.

I'm not discounting Montana's chances to win...it's going to be a hell of a game tomorrow.

But I like UNC's chances at home, our role players play much better at Butler-Hancock and Beitzel's playing as well as I've seen him play ever.

I have a hunch that the combination of Kingman/Kaba/Montgomery/Lloyd will shoot better than 4% from the field tomorrow night, which is what they shot in UNC's last game against the Griz. That will probably help :thumb:

My concern is that Montana has some guys that can flat out shoot the ball and we seem to struggle getting players out to cover the 3-point shot. Montana has some great speed as well. I look for a more run and gun game that will come down to the wire.

First things first: Go Bears !!!! Butler Hancock rocked last night!!! Ok everettgriz,12 points in the first half??? Are you kidding me. Feel lucky that Weber shot so poorly or you would have been blown out. Bears just need to shut down BQ under the basket and shoot a good game. Anyway, good luck and it will be more fun tonight. Rock the house again Bear fans!!!! I want to see Tinkle blow out. Go BEARS !!!!!

All I have to say is wow... I can't blame anything on the officiating this time, nothing was falling in the basket. It was annoying! There is one thing I have to say.....................

U............U............U
N............N............N
C............C............C
BEARS......BEARS......BEARS

Except that tonight's meeting isn't in Missoula is it? Yeah, it's not.

I know what you guys are trying to do with Selvig, my point is that isn't that efficient. I'm also willing to bet that if he wasn't such a p*ssy that you guys who wouldn't be trying to do that with him, but he doesn't have the nuts to man up and play down low, so you guys are forced to basically have a 7 foot swingman who doesn't exactly light it up. Outside of Quale, you guys are soft. Can't wait till tonight.

Our big men also aren't 6'11" and 7'

How do you not understand that Selvig is a P*SSY?

Don't worry bout everettjizz, the guy (or girl not sure) is a douchebag. He's/her is super sensitive, and if you don't see it his way, "you don't know anything about basketball." I owned him/her last time.

ummm....respectfully, it doesn't much matter what either of you two think...it matters what the players on the floor think; there's your difference.. ;-)

BTW - I heard they're selling about 250 extra tickets at 10AM today, Wednesday, March 9
