The most electrifying and most ridiculous had to be Tiawan. Jesse Chatman was an absolute beast to watch run the ball, and like Tiawan, seemed unstoppable. Brandon Kaufman also fit that model of seemingly unstoppablity, absolutely ridiculous! Greg Peach seemed unblockable most of the time with sacks or tackles for loss with regularly. When Bo Levi was a senior he seemed like Superman at the qb spot. Now it is Cooper and Vernon who are the unstoppable tandem. There have been some great Eags in the past 15 years!!!

I think it's comical that Taiwan wasn't considered a top 100 player in the Big Sky. He was the most feared offensive player in the conference for 2 years, literally every opposing defensive coordinator had nightmares thinking about how to stop him. He has to be a top 5 all time IMO. I've only really paid attention to the program in the 21st century, so I am biased to the last 14 years or so.

Vernon Adams

Taiwan Jones was the most exciting football player I have ever watched. I still go back and watch his Youtube highlights from time to time. :notworthy:

I really wish we could have seen him play his senior season.

No love for Cooper Kupp? After his freshman year, he is already the most feared offensive player in the Big Sky.

There are so many unsung heros as well. Guys like Roos have certainly elevated the program but not as flashy as a WR QB or RB.
T Jones is definitely at or near the top. He was so fun to watch. Sooo many times you could see him get a small crease and say in my mind, "he gone". While it would have been great to see him play his senior year it appears going to the NFL early was best for him.

BlackFalkin has the only list worth a damn because he qualifies it correctly as best since 2000. No Kurt Schulz?

It's tough for me to pick between the last 4 QB's. I'm sure Nichol's would be 4th on most lists, but I think was the smartest, least mistake prone, and best pure QB of the group.

Best football players, Sherritt and M. Johnson with Peach a close third. They could literally take over football games from the defensive side.

TJ and Kauf were simply on other planets at their position.

kalm, seems like everyone forgot on of our better linebacker, namely, Joey Cwik, graduate from Mead High, now is in the Medical Field, he is now becoming a "Doctor". Can continue, don't want to clog the blog. ;) Vic Wallace

Great picks...You must be an ex-player. Taiwan Jones is the best running back I've ever seen. So surprised it didn't convert to the NFL at running back.

It's hard to say where Adams is going to fit into that Qb list after only 2 years but if he puts up numbers even remotely similar to 2013 he's going to be in the top 3.

I think Taiwans ability did transfer well in the nfl however, I think he's on the wrong team and is under utilized. I also remember Matt Nichols throwing 3 picks to the same player in the same game. Single handedly placing that man on the all conference list. So idk about the "great decision making" part. I thought Matt Nichols was good but nothing special. He's the only guy that got 4 years as starting qb and he did absolutely nothing with it. He's the only EWU qb since 2003 to not win a big sky conference title. I once questioned Wulff if Nichols was "ready" to lead the team... Let's just say that conversation didn't end we'll for me. But after 4 years as starter no conference titles and only one playoff win (I think). I know he held or still holds some records but I always saw him "ok".

I think Vernon Adams could potentially be the best EWU Qb if he gets better. Right now he has an excellent resume already but I can't put him in front of BLM Bc BLM made the clutch plays.

But under agree that Taiwan jones was the most feared player for two seasons. And Vernon Adams is the most feared player now. For those reasons they're both in my top 5.

Like I said...and we can point to less than perfect performances from all the QB's. Picking nits...

I remember Matt dismantling # 2 seed McNeese on the road in the playoffs, having two of the best performances in the history of WA Griz, and willing us into the playoffs in a masterpiece against NAU in 2009...again on the road. Btw, at the end of that season we were almost as beat up on D as we were in oline at the end of 2011... :coffee:

To All,
Fans that are concerned about Tevin McDonald health. Saw him a few times last month participating in 7 on 7 games, where he made a pick and ran it back approximately 90 yards. Didn't seemed like any problems with his after surgery. Yesterday made a trip to the University, got to Reece Court, saw Tevin running the hills, he was there when we got there, watched him for about 15 minutes, looks great.  :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: He stated he is going back to California for about 8 days, and then returning for the season training. Vic Wallace p.s. Another Defensive Player to remember, Kurt Schultz, who played approximately 8 years for Bills, and played damn good.

Seattle Eagle,
My concern about Vernon (hate to think about this) I noticed some Players were taking some cheap shots at him last ear, that will be my greatest concern, should he stay healthy, he will be in a class of his own, and think of the Quarter Backs behind him. I think Hennessey might RS this year, I am just guessing, Coach will make that decision. Saw a lot of students packing their cars/family cars getting ready for the long vacation.
I saw where some personnel were inquiring about the Go Eags Wrist Bands, they were given out last month at the EWOOS, in Showalter Hall, they are supposed to be for students for the Sam Houston Game 08/23/14, @ 13:30 p.m. Made my 1st pmt for my EAA Fund Drive. Here is hoping we get more personnel involved in donating to our Athletic Program. Take care. Vic Wallace

Beating #1 seed McNeese State on the road was def a high point, but again, no rings. Not one ring on that man's trophy case. 4 years - 0 Rings. Just calling a spade a spade. I'd probably place Kyle Pardon above home.
