Ha! This is hilarious! This Sac State poster seems to feel a little hostility for UC Davis! Nice to see the comparative level of support the PSU administration has thrown to the program (cough, cough).

Just curious, what are the revenues generated by each of these programs and is there any correlation? Asking for a friend.

First, you think it’s just that poster? Nobody refers to them as Davis on that board. But it’s their stadium that still needs real bathrooms.

Second, just a notice to take these numbers (and any revenue numbers we find) with a grain of salt. You might get two schools in one state to account for their budgets the same. I seem to remember people in Boise making note of Idaho supposedly diverting funds from the vending machine operations to athletics some decades ago.

Thing is, the one thing most public schools have to do is not overspend their revenues… but are also pretty much compelled to spend what they make. What would really get my interest is to see a sport-by-sport breakdown.

Also, a reminder… NIL is not on budget. And that is a bigger factor anymore. When Oregon State takes the billboards they would usually use to sell tickets and instead steer fans towards contributing to their Dam Nation Collective (somehow, that name became too on the nose since the Black Friday in August), that says something.

Every school in the conference has seen some sort of derogatory names on various forums. And for those fortunate enough to have an agricultural curriculum, some descriptions of, ummm, poop, is to be expected.

Some common derogatory names for us that I've seen are "Vi-Queens" and of course, "Pot-Land".

If you’re ignoring the House settlement and the Sac State stuff, that’s an interesting choice.

It’s merely the future of athletics at a lot of schools at stake.

With all the things pertaining to football right now, talking about BYU's drinking boosters was certainly an interesting topic to start the podcast with.
