That was probably the worst call I've ever seen. Not only was Pena about a foot away from the guy and didn't even touch him but it was the last 10 seconds of the game. I don't watch 2 hours of basketball for it to come down to the final shot and instead of us winning or losing it there the refs cheat us out of the chance. The Big Sky needs all the fans they can get why cheat us like that?

I know this isnt going to make you feel better, but this is what happens all the time.

Every team in the conference has suffered at the hands of BSC refs, ( yes even Sac St ) they are without a doubt the worst refs in the nation, I have a friend who is a Utah Ute fan and we went to the tournament game vs MSU last year in Ogden, and he couldnt believe what he saw, he said those were the worse refs he ever saw, and I simply nodded and said I see it every year.

Im sorry about what happened, its happened to Weber too much, but you just got to keep plugging along, and hope for the best. Im rooting for you guys.

Because we're the new guy. They said "Hey, you're the new guy, guess who gets screwed?"

Well, we still have some work to do to get into the tournament.. Does anyone know the tiebreakers and scenarios??

I think you guys have the tie breaker over MSU, you beat them at MSU, and if Im not mistaken you still get them at home. so if you beat them again, I think that woul guarantee you a spot in the tourney.

Yeah that call was bad, really bad. Why the ref thinks he needs to decide the game like that is beyond me. And I'm not saying he should swallow his whistle, if a foul is committed then call it. However, with 10 seconds to go and the game coming down to the final shot you had better be damn sure you are making the right call. And even if Pena had touched the guy (which he didn't) it was an extremely ticky tacky call to begin with. I mean how many millions of times do people bump into each other over the course of a game? If you call that every time it happens you'd call it on every possession. So to call that at that moment was unbelievably unprofessional.

However, no game comes down to one call it's just to bad it came down to that and cost us at least a chance to shoot a three.

And Boyle was pissed, if anyone saw after the final whistle he chased the ref across the court and to the locker room but the little weasel had a head start and Boyle got stopped by the other refs which is probably good I've never seen him so pissed and I can understand why. Good to see the fire though, too bad we don't get that out of all our coaches *cough* football *cough*

I hope, but then what's the tiebreaker with Eastern Washington? Then Idaho State.. have they clinched yet? What about Northern Arizona? I would hope the Big Sky website displays some sort of scenario deal in the near future, because we all know the Greeley Tribune doesn't really care.. which is so beyond me I can't even put it into words.

I found this on the FCS blog, hopefully this helps.
