Big Sky Tourney Coverage

Where will the games be covered?

I work on Thursday but should have access to internet radio or Big Sky T.V if they are showing the games. I'd like to watch/listen to the other games too, so if you know of other team's coverage, I'd appreciate it if you posted that info too.

I am guessing 1280 the zone will broadcast it, but since it is at 3:00pm, maybe not...

Here is the radio information.

97.5 FM “The Zone” with Carl Arky, the 2011 Utah Sportscaster of the Year, and Dutch Belnap calling all the action. It can also be heard online at 975thezone.com

I think its time to get rid of Arky too. Each year its harder for me to listen to Wilcat games. It helps now that I can watch road games online and listen to their homers. But I think Dutch & Carl are some of the most difficult to listen to in the Conference. Carl uses too many junk cliches. Every player has to have a nickname. The honey boo boo line he has been using this year is just awful. Does Bovee think our broadcasts are good?

carl has always done those nicknames. half the nicknames the players have over the years are from carl. didnt he also invent the show and the thrill?

maybe its just me, the nickname stuff and funny terms is one of the things i like most about carl. i really miss the lady gaga reference from the 2010 season.

another thing cool about arky is he really loves his job and weber state sports. he said if he was doing it for the pay he would have been long gone years ago. he really enjoys calling the games.

i think as an announcer carl is hotter than honey boo boo child or was it britney spoons hot pants? who doesnt like lord byron lord of the rims? but he should change that once since the harlem shake to fulton the sulton.

the only change we need is to replace dutch with the general.

Just an FYI, Wildcat Carl Arky won the Sports Broadcaster of the Year award for the State of Utah this last year. So apparently he knows what the hell he's doing. :twocents:
I enjoy listening to Carl and I feel WSU is lucky to have him.

Carl Arky named Utah Sportscaster of the Year

I like Carl as well, I think he is fun to listen to, he may be a homer but he does give props to other teams when props are due, the only one that really drags the broadcast down is Dutch, I am not a fan of Dutch, but it is what it is. The announcer in the Big Sky that does the best job is NAU's.

And wasnt Carl voted Utah Sportscaster of the year the year before last year to?

Dutch is working for FREE, hard to complain about someone who knows more about basketball than the rest of us combined and he is working for FREE.

if you attend all the wsu home games and watch all our road games on big sky tv. when would you have ever even heard dutch?????

When I'm not at home and listening to the radio

I love Arky - clearly the best in Utah and one of the top 2-3 in the Big Sky. NAU and UNC have good announcers as well (the rest tend to suck) :blah: :blah: :blah:

The Dutchman - I could take him or leave him. He does have some insights into the game (but so would other commentators). He works for free - gotta love that and he does have a passion for WSU basketball.

btw - He must drink gravel during the games because his voice..... eeesh

They are both terrible, but you get what you pay for.

Sportscaster of the year means Nothing, eventually your going to win it if you hang around Utah long enough, & to put up with Dutch because he's free is the stupidest thing I've ever heard from AJ, & that says a lot doesn't it. Honey boo boo references are Horrible. When somebody makes a 3 he picks some random City & says Downtown Seattle or something that makes no sense. Our broadcasts are lousy in my opinion.

Arky was better when the commentary just flowed. It seams like he is trying to hard lately. Coming up with Harold the show was awesome. Calling Damian Lillard "Fly Guy" 52 times in a single broadcast last year, not so awesome. Its good to have Dutch because he's free. That is a lame argument! There are lots of free things in life that are free but aren't good. The broadcast needs some youth and some energy. Carl coming up with stupid cliche's is not enough. How many sports casters in the state are there? Listening to other broadcasters in our conference has taught me that ours are not great. UNC, NAU, ISU and North Dakotas are much better broadcasts than ours.

+1. I'd rather watch the game on mute then listen to Arky.
