Biggest DI win?

One of the more civil Griz fans asked me last night if I thought this win over the Griz was the biggest win for PSU since they joined the conference. I think it is right up there. I don't know if it is bigger than the Wazzu win in 2015 or not. The game in Hawaii when we beat June Jones for our first win over the FBS was big. Of course the throttling we put on North Texas in 2015 could be big as well. What do you all think? Is this bigger than the first time we beat Montana in a Big Sky conference game? Bigger than Wazzu or some of the other ones I mentioned?

I think this and Wazzu are close as the biggest. This win a historic conference win but Wazzu a Power 5 win.

Its like dying in the desert for 2 years and finally getting a drink...best ever. But I would have to say Wazzu first, Hawaii 2nd, N.TX 3rd, sweeping both Montana schools in 2015 4th, and this win is next.

Definitely the best I could have imagined in the last 2 years. Hoping to eat my words on 2-9 this year...

I have to agree with this 1-5.

That Hawaii game in 2000, we won 45-20, but I think Hawaii scored late to make it look respectable. Another good win was New Mexico in 2007, that we won 17-6. The Lobos went to a bowl that year. Jerry Glanville had a couple good wins over EWU in his tenure here (28-21 at Cheney in 2007 when EWU was #21, and 47-36 in Portland when EWU was #11).

N Texas was a broken program, so a great win for us, but....

And you can't change the game by taking TWO victories!
I say last Saturday was #2.

Isn't it great talking about victories again!

I think our biggest D1 win will be when we beat an SEC program (Arkansas) next season. :-)

I'm inclined to go with Hawaii since that's when we popped our FBS cherry so to speak. Long way to travel, and you're basically kicking off at 10pm according to your internal clock. Plus it was June Jones with his PSU history, so there's that as well. Certainly not as sexy as knocking off a power five program, but a really big win nonetheless. The Wazzu game is a very, very close second in my book.

The New Mexico game wasn't really all that shocking. I happened to be there and you could tell in the stadium that they were looking past us. You could also tell that they didn't really outmatch us talent wise, and the defense that year was great.

North Texas seemed like us walking into a bar for a beer, and a really, really, really big drunk guy picks a fight. Left jab, right hook. Good night Irene.

The UM game was a huge win, one of our biggest FCS wins for sure. However, given that we don't play UM every year anymore, I'd take a last game of the regular season victory over EWU to notch a spot in the playoffs over the win over UM in Missoula any day of the week.
