BigSky Conference Location

When is the BS conference going to come out of the "dark ages" and select a neutral tourney site? Did you see the attendance during that first game....it was embarrassing! I would have certainly liked to have attended but there is no atmosphere in that gym! At least I'm not seeing it.

Go Bears!

I'm here. There isn't much hype for a #2 vs #7 game. It will get better as people get out of work and the seeds are closer. A neutral site would probably be much worse. I don't think as many people would travel. And the home crowd wouldn't even go watch the first round games.

What neutral site would work to not give any advantage but still be accessible to the entire BSC?

I just don't think the interest is there to support a neautral site. I'd rather have at least the host team get some crowds rather than nobody and they earned the right to host by winning the regular season it makes that a true advantage as it should be.

As a conference you want your best team to win the tourny as with this conference antd many others it's a one bid conference.

So a neutral court site solves everything? Have you even been watching the WAC tournament Utah Valley play Texas Pan-American in front of nobody. And the crowd at all three games today would've filled more than half of the big sky arenas

Because of the expansive geography of the league, I really don't think a neutral or predetermined site would be in the best interest of the leauge.

When Weber plays tonight, there is going to probably be 6,000 people there. If they win another 6,000 on Saturday.

If it were in say Las Vegas or Denver, how many would be there for the title game regardless of who plays? 1,500 maybe...........

I wish we could have it in vegas. that would be way fun. too bad the conf is so wide spread and there isn't a big demand for big sky hoops. I see the wac is still using vegas. ill have to go take a peek at their attendance. nevermind its unlisted.

Every once in a while an arena near my house (Showplace Arena, Upper Marlboro, MD) hosts a conference tourny (usually Atlantic 10 and Colonial conference). The attendance is horrific and many of the teams are only 30 minutes to 3 hours away. I can't see Big Sky fans traveling to games like this unless it's within a 3 or 4 hour drive and they didn't have to stay overnight.
