BigSky Games Week 8 (Eags bye)

Using the spinning dartboard selection process wasn't working, so took a ton of peyote and climbed into a sensory deprivation tank this week to get in touch with my ancient recessive gene's and a closer connection to all things in the universe... doubt the results will be substantively different, but I am missing a significant block of time now ;-)

Games ..
MSU @ Weber -- Interested to see a team that will continue to run the ball can do against Weber. Am going Cats, in a Princess Leia help us Obi Wan Kenobi way, looking for a slight Weber let down after a tough win against the Eags. Hill is doing a good job coaching Weber up, but his QB had a Dave Krieg moment against the Eags with one big play (super Dave for all who remember could show up or the other Krieg could show up and fumble 4 times). Eastern forced 3 fumbles but only recovered 1. This is the game of the week for me. An MSU win may be wishful thinking.

UC Davis @ Cal Poly -- Don't expect the 'Stangs to do us any favors but a man can hope. UC Davis doesn't have our defense and the option will present challenges as long as CP maintains possession. They cough it up and it will be UC Davis in a blowout. Expect high score UC Davis victory but their defense takes a beating. So their schedule gets tougher with @Griz, NAU and @EWU next on their dance card. So important Eags take care of business moving forward.

Idaho St @ Liberty -- Non-conference game across the country for the BeeGee's.. Not going to tell us much but if they beat a good Liberty team transitioning to the FBS definitely sends a signal. There are a couple of games left on ISU's schedule that could help Eastern out.. The universe tells me Liberty in this one.

SUU @ Idaho -- Who the hell knows... Does home field advantage count if the seats have an inch of dust on them? SUU in a close matchup. Doubt Idaho is looking past them for their date on the Inferno next week, as a matter of fact, not sure Idaho knows which end is up.. TBirds.

NAU @ UNC -- NAU... Stay healthy and then put it too UC Davis in a couple of weeks. Expect No Colorado to play hard, NAU is better.

UND @ Sac St -- UND has been oddly up and down. Didn't think they had anything to play for last week, but they were at home. Don't know how beat up Sac St is but expect them to play better this week. UND is the better team

Someone explain how UND's status impacts the BigSky championship? I didn't think they were eligible to win it but don't know how it works.

North Dakota is no longer a member of the Big Sky, therefore they cannot win the Big Sky Conference and get the Big Sky's automatic bid to the playoffs. However, since they are an Independent they can still get an At Large bid to the playoffs. Games vs current Big Sky Schools do not count in any standings for North Dakota but games vs North Dakota do count for current Big Sky members due to a deal the Big Sky made with UND due to their abrupt departure (Schedules were already made)

MSU @ Weber - Weber

UC Davis @ Cal Poly - Davis

Idaho State @ Liberty - who cares?? Why play an out of conference in the middle of the season :ohno:

SUU @ Idaho - battle of the losers -whew- I'll take Idaho home field advantage

NAU @ UNC - NAU - no bainer so it is easy call for me.

UND @ Sac state UND by at least 4 TD's I believe Sears signed a new contract but since Sears is bankrupt is he too???

clawman,
Got some bad news this am, I will have to miss the rest of the games, I found out my diabetic is now behind both eyes. Will be going into the Eye Clinic for surgery on the left eye in two weeks. I got a shot in the right eye today, no pain from the shot, the surgery on the left eye will take about 20 t0 30 minutes. I will be ok, GOD IS IN MY CORNER. We can always count in him in good and bad tines. I an type 2 Diabetic. Be seeing you and family once I get the clearance from the Doctor. Vic E. Wallace (EKG} Eastern Kinda Guy)

Really sorry to hear that Vic, I was just thinking of you today, it has been a long time since we talked. You are a tough guy and a survivor so I am sure it will work out. Too bad you can not at least make it to homecoming.
Hope to see you soon,
CC

MSU @ Weber - Weber, but hoping for msu

UC Davis @ Cal Poly - UC Davis

Idaho State @ Liberty - ISU

SUU @ Idaho - Idaho

NAU @ UNC - NAU

UND @ Sac State - UND

Couple of good games in the MVC today. NDST v. Illinios St Redbirds and SDST v UNI

NDST is at home. Hard to beat but Redbirds are well coached and look pretty physical, expect a good game.

SDST is good but on the road at UNI this week...

MSU @ Weber - MSU

UC Davis @ Cal Poly - UC Davis

Idaho State @ Liberty - ISU

SUU @ Idaho - Idaho

NAU @ UNC - NAU

UND @ Sac State - UND

Love to see Southern Utah beat Idaho... But strongly doubt it happens.

The craziest thing about the conference this year is that eight weeks in, I'm still a little lost as to who's got what. I think UC Davis is the real deal, everyone else looks totally hit and miss, or in a couple of cases, just plain bad. I've watched every Eastern game, I'm still mystified by whether Eastern is all that good or not.

ISU holding their own at Liberty (on ESPN3). They may have some of the smallest players ever.

Barn burner. Gotta say ISU looked like a good middle of the pack BigSky team. Balanced attack, reasonable defense and they didn't quit. Over 600 yds of offense on about 22 completions... Gads.

N. Colo smoked NAU... :ohno:

Oh man...watching Weber vs MSU...Weber's QB Kaden Jenks goes down...carted off looks as if it's season ending. sigh

Unreal the number of QB injuries in the conference this year.

Party in Pullman tonight... that looked like so much fun.

Cougs had lady luck on their side yesterday. In the first everything went their way and they had mo going their way. In the second half the Ducks won 20-7.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.

Loved the after game interview with Minshew, it was apparent he'd never been in such a positive winning environment before and he was loving it. Huge GameDay crowd and enthusiasm.

Laughed the whole game to see all the students with painted on mustaches. Pure joy at the end of the clip...3:51 mark

On another note, did we learn anything about the Bigsky for the remainder of the season?

Can't say there were any surprises. Idaho up next for the Eags. Any injury updates of note?

ISU has a tough slate ahead, Weber's is pretty weak and Eag's control their fate facing UC Davis in a few weeks if they take care of business between here and there. UC Davis is @Griz and @Eags...

Next up Idaho on the Inferno.. Go Eags
