I think bobby has the chance to dominate this year. I live in the coos bay area where he went to high school and got to see him play a lot he is extremely strong and also very fast. My prediction is that he will rush for over a 1,000 yards if he gets enough carries.
what you guys think?

1,000 yards would seem like alot in the run and shoot. Has Hawaii had any 1,000 yard rushers in the last few years?

Their last RB was about 40 yards short, but he also had 900 receiving yards and missed one game. Though we will throw more then UH does so I doubt we get a 1,000 yard rusher.

Im qouting D Tackle Casey Tyler in this but he thinks that Bobby is gonna be the Guy to watch on the team this year.

If that is true the Run and SHoot will be unstopable

Over or under?

Bobby McClintock: 1.)1000yds rushing 2.)5yds per carry 3.)700 yds receiving

My vote: over, over, over

What say you?

Over five yards per carry would be awesome and with that average and if he is healthy all season, a thousand yrda would be doable. Probably he will have to do it without 200 yard games.

I think he'll be that good, but it takes a lot of touches to rush for 1000 and catch another 700. Touches and healthy season.

Last year Hawaii's Ilaoa had 131 touches in 10 starts (13 game appearances) and just missed 1000 yards with 990 net yards rushing. He had a 7.6 average per carry. His receiving yards were 837 on 67 catches. Mouse uses the fullback a lot in his offense. Bobby is going to give us something to cheer about. But you are probably right, a thousand yards rushing might ber out of reach unless we add PLAYOFF games.

I woudl have to say

UNDER
OVER
OVER

When Mcklintock isnt pounding D Linemen and picking up Blitzing linebackers who think there gettin a free shot on the Q B, Mouse is gonna release him to the flat or swing him out for a screen. His recieving yards are going to be high. If does get over 1000 yards that will make PSU unstoppable.

Im excited to watch him play versus UC Davis.

Vikings thrilled to have their fullback back
Coaches want strong-man McClintock to refine his running style

I'm more interested in how many blitzing linebackers Bobby puts into the dirt.

A frustrated face Bobby Daly, Cyrus Mulitalo, and Mike Brannon in the 4th quarter will mean much more than a 100 yards on the ground for Bobby....

Bobby is healthy and feeling strong and fast. His knee is 100%. I believe he had 7 receptions and 4 or 5 carries in just the first half at McNeeses State, before he hurt his knee. If he gets those type of touches he may not get 1000 yards, but he will be tearing up the turf in the pass game. Down in Coos Bay during his high school years he was known as the "Pain Train" because of his hitting both on offense and defense. I'm looking forward to seeing him deliver some pain to PSU's opponents this year.

I agree with Mouse that he tends to want to go through people all the time, rather then make a move now and then. If he can develop his run style a little bit, that should help him get some more yards.

Go Viks.

McClintock Named Big Sky Conference Offensive Player of the Week

http://www.goviks.com/ViewArticle.dbml?temp_site=NO&DB_OEM_ID=19300&ATCLID=1573102

Portland State fullback Bobby McClintock was named the Big Sky Conference Offensive Player of the Week today following his four-touchdown performance in the Vikings' 31-14 win over Western Oregon on Saturday.

McClintock, a 5-foot-10, 240-pound junior from Coos Bay, Ore., scored all four of Portland State’s touchdowns in his return after missing nearly the entire 2007 season with a knee injury. McClintock scored on a 5-yard run in the first quarter, and added scoring runs of 3 and 1 yard in the third quarter. He capped Portland State’s scoring with a 7-yard run in the fourth quarter. McClintock finished the game with 116 all-purpose yards, including 68 receiving yards on seven catches, and 48 yards rushing.

McClintock was a named preseason All-Big Sky Conference despite missing last season. He was also selected as a preseason second team All-American by College Sporting News. It is the first Player of the Week honor in McClintock's career.

Sacramento State defensive end Zach Nash was the Big Sky Defensive Player of the Week. Northern Arizona punter/kicker Robbie Dehaze was the Special Teams Player of the Week.

McClintock and the Vikings (1-0) will take this week off before returning to action at UC Davis (0-1) on Sept. 13. That game is a 7 p.m. kickoff and will be televised on Comcast Sports Net, channel 37, in Portland.

Bobby might get an extra year from the NCAA to makeup for last season's injury, right?

That's my understanding: both McClintock and Howland would get another year, since their sophmore years were less than one game it makes sense.

Sweet. If Bobby is still around two years from now, that should be right about that time that JG's recruiting really pays off and Mouse's system really starts hitting on all cylinders.
