McClintock Named Big Sky Conference Offensive Player of the Week

Portland State fullback Bobby McClintock was named the Big Sky Conference Offensive Player of the Week today following his four-touchdown performance in the Vikings' 31-14 win over Western Oregon on Saturday.
McClintock, a 5-foot-10, 240-pound junior from Coos Bay, Ore., scored all four of Portland State’s touchdowns in his return after missing nearly the entire 2007 season with a knee injury. McClintock scored on a 5-yard run in the first quarter, and added scoring runs of 3 and 1 yard in the third quarter. He capped Portland State’s scoring with a 7-yard run in the fourth quarter. McClintock finished the game with 116 all-purpose yards, including 68 receiving yards on seven catches, and 48 yards rushing.
McClintock was a named preseason All-Big Sky Conference despite missing last season. He was also selected as a preseason second team All-American by College Sporting News. It is the first Player of the Week honor in McClintock's career.
Sacramento State defensive end Zach Nash was the Big Sky Defensive Player of the Week. Northern Arizona punter/kicker Robbie Dehaze was the Special Teams Player of the Week.
McClintock and the Vikings (1-0) will take this week off before returning to action at UC Davis (0-1) on Sept. 13. That game is a 7 p.m. kickoff and will be televised on Comcast Sports Net, channel 37, in Portland.
