Break out star of 2014?

Pretty safe to say Kupp was last years. Who do you think will be a break out star this year for the eagles? I like what I saw from Kendrick Bourne last year as a true freshman.

Shaq Hill - and I don't know if it can be considered a breakout year considering what he has done in years past, but I think he has a monster season. Kupp will see a lot of attention, although he still will put up big numbers, and I think Hill is set to have a TON of big plays...

Since defense is our weakness at this point, we have a couple of guys that played as true freshman that could have a big impact.

On offense - DJ Martin. Defense, I think Ebukam is primed to have a huge year. He's an impressive athlete and did some great things as a freshman last year. A safer choice would be Tonani. He's had a year to get healthy, learn and practice. Plus, he showed glimpses of greatness as a frosh as well.

I have to give a third nod to Bourne. I was really impressed with him during the scrimmages. I think other teams are going to do everything they can to neutralize Kupp, and he won't have quite as strong a year as last year (though it will likely still be one of the top in the FCS, and Bourne will be open a lot. We have so many other solid receivers, and RB's that will create nightmares in defensive coordinators minds of every team we play.

On D, I'm excited to see Tonani back, but wonder how game ready he will be. If he can build upon what he showed in year one, he will be a force!

i could see DJ Martin having an impact on special teams, but I wonder how much productivity theres going to be out of the backfield. it would seem as if most of the carries will go to Forte, Brown, Wilson in that order. They have him listed as a receiver right now so maybe that's where they think theres the best chance of getting him chances to touch the ball his first year. next year I could see him having a huge impact alongside Wilson and Moore but I wonder about it this season. On defense I am going to say Ebukam as well, but could easily go with Zamora or Havili, both were awesome players as freshman. Offense I am going to echo the others and go with Bourne. I think defenses will key in on Kupp which which will help our other receivers get open. He has the size athleticism and speed to really make an impact.

clawman,
The young man I have been looking to break out, is Nic Sblendorio, he have been working very hard, and run great routes. Presently our "Wide Receivers" are "DEADLY" :thumb: :thumb:    We are familiar with Cooper Kupp, Blair Bomber, Kendrick Bourne, Shaq Hill, Cory Mitchell. Ones coming are going to be great additions. NOTE: Larren Wright Jr. #29, four years he came out, and haven't had an opportunity to play, that is dedication, above 3.5 GPA, very smart in the Classrooms, and enjoyable to talk with. See some of you on Thursday a.m., providing you are not scheduled for your job to work. Take care. Vic Wallace

Agree with everything you said. My guess is they want to get Martin on the field this year, but Forte is primed for a monster season in the backfield, so Martin may see time at WR and backup RB. I'd expect he'd move to RB next year after Forte graduates unless he is something special at WR.

DJ Martin is no longer on the team. Haven't seen a reason why but usually its grades.

Look out for Jake Gall LB.
Just a guess, but does the G in krg stand for Gall?

Go get 'em, Jake! Can't wait to see him hit someone!

Dude, you busted me..
Its been a full year since I've seen my kid dominate on the field. I don't know who is more pumped. Him or me.
Well actually I do. He just called me after this afternoons conditioning test. He cant wait to pile drive Mr Miles in to the Husky turf...

I had been curious, perhaps suspicious of your username. It seemed similar to the army of spamming computer-generated names that infiltrated our site around the time you joined last year. I'm glad I didn't accidentally ban you. :D

Dozy,
I see Dylan quite often, and when we talk he just smiles with joy that the season is approximately 23 days away. Will see him this am. Chris and myself are going out to greet the Players. I am just as pumped as anyone else, looked at the 2010 Championship Game a few weeks ago, and is ready for some Butt Kicking :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :D :D :D :D :D . I am sure you have seen the "MUSCLES" he continue to put on. I remembered almost 4 years ago, the kind of Skinny young man coming in as a Recruit, and the Players had to cut his hair, put him in the shower for being cocky    . Still the same "Bad Ass Player", doesn't back down from anyone. 8-) 8-) 8-) :x :x :x :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: Excuse that three letter word, nothing negative. See you on the Aug. 23rd, if not before. Tell the West side Crew, will see them also. Go Eagles!!!!! Vic Wallace

Hey Vic!

We're pretty pumped for the season over here on the west side. You may see me sooner than the 23rd. I'm supposed to be in Spokane for work the second week of August. I'll try to sneak a practice in...
