I do think the new song will work. I will niss Joker and the thief but this is a song that not only we clap we but we can chant with it to. More crowd involment. Even so I will miss Joker and the theif that song was a tradtion that should have not been stopped.

Is Joker and The Thief really that big of a deal? I mean, its been played at the games for a couple years now (two or three years I think). It was really great, and still is great, but I've been to some local High School games and they are starting to use the song. I think change is good since multiple groups are starting to use the same song.
 
YES, it is a big deal. It's called trying to start tradition, you don't try fixing something thats not broken. TheRealDeal my A$$.
 
They are going to change the song? Life as we know it as weber state fans is over! Relax, guys. we still have Lillard, Session, and the rest of the guys to provide quality entertainment. The intro song, though it was a good tradition, only was on for like a total of 30 seconds a night anyway. It sucks that it looks like it's going, but it's really not that big a deal.

And why all the hostility toward TheRealDeal. You all just need to relax a bit. You can share your opinions without being jack asses. This forum should be a place where weber fans respect each other and where they feel comfortable sharing their opinions without without getting crap from people who feel they can be bullies online, where in real life they probably wouldn't look a person in the eye in normal conversation, or from people who take pride in getting pissed off about everything and in taking it upon themselves to get people to lose their jobs. (okay, my mini rant is over) :oops:

We still will have great traditions. Fight song with the team after games, tail gating, volley ball girls body painting, the victory tree, and the pie.
 
As a non-student section guy, a non student and wildcat fan from the days of Al Hamilton, Stan Rose, Nembard, and JimmyD I really like Joker. It's not all about you Pattenjr, but the song is tradition that a normal fan can clinch on to. :mrgreen:
 
......... Plus slowly I've turned Mrs. WeberSki from slc into a huge Weber fan and she loves Joker that is good enough for me to DEMAND it stay.
 
Ya Joker is a good song, but my point is the song is not why most people go to games. I wonder how many people will stay home from the games this year so they can listen to Joker on their I-pods?
Joker does school Fan Chant for sure, and I hope Joe listens to the fans and doesn't play Fan Chant. There really is no reason to change the song. It is a great tradition that should stick around, but if it doesn't most fans have other, better reasons to attend games.
 
oh, and weber, just so ya know my rant above wasn't aimed at you but at talhad and bengalhater. Those two just look for reasons to be angry all the time for some reason...
 
Of course Joker is not the reason people come out, but anything at Weber that the crowd and fans like and enjoy should be built onto, not taken away from, until hopefully someday soon we have the Dee full. I have purchased seasons tix for other family trying to get them out because I think Rahe has put an awesome product on the floor and I believe in what he has going. Hell ya son of a bitch, can't wait until Friday, oh and JOE STRAND BRING BACK JOKER AND THE THIEF YOU LITTLE BITCH!!!!

By the by, why are you attacking me? Please go through the past posts and highlight the ones in which I was irrational or calling for a lynching? Weberski, he is only saying that because he is friends with me and bengalhater, but unlike Bengalhater, I will continue to forgive him and ask if his wife will cut my hair. I can see and understand your point about Joker being a great song. Everyone knows it is and that's great. My point is that when local high school and other schools in the big sky conference start using the same song as the "Tradition" you are trying to start, it starts to lose it meaning. That is why things as the Fight Song and Victory bell are a tradition. Traditions that are unique to us here at Weber.

FYI: Joker is still being played. They used it for both the Women Basketball intros/Tip-off, and Volleyballs Intro/Tip-off. But I guess none of you are going out to see those sports. Great WSU tradition, trying to be started by people who are only partial WSU fans. Branch out and maybe see the rest of campus. You might like it.

I agree, we should attend every WSU game at home for every single sport like TheRealDeal does. Lets see...will we still have time for classes at school or jobs for those that are graduated? Who cares, we wouldn't be loyal fans if we don't go to all the tennis matches with body paint.
 
Even as an employee of Weber, who gets paid to go to all the games, the Realdeal still doesn't go. I'm sure if it wasn't his job, he could care less. Hence the way he treats boosters, supporters, students, and sponsors.
