BSC Tournament Semifinals: UNC @ WSU

Next to the Griz, the Bears are probably the team I didn't want to see in the semis. For UNC, It all hinges on Unruh and Svihovec. If they're shooting well, this game will come down to the wire. An off night for those two and it could get ugly quick.

Like Coach Hill said, they are the 6 seed and really have no expectations so they'll be playing loose. Stop their outside shooting, keep a leash on Barden, don't turn the ball over, rebound, make your freebies...and I think we'll be playing on ESPNU tomorrow night.

Hoping for a hell of a game! It'll be fun to go back and forth with the UNC fans at The Dee. Can we get 8000 strong for the game? See everyone at 7 (or in my case, 4:30!)

I think Weber matches up well against No Co.
It has been a month since their regular season visit.
Hopefully Weber can start off tonight's game like they did back on Feb 8.

I'll be there at 4:30 too (with 3 others) for two more! I love tournament ball at the Dee!

I wouldn't say the Griz or the Bears are the teams I didn't want to see, however, they may be the two that make me most nervous playing. UNC<=>NAU; either one would make me nervous. I'm banking on the season history suggesting that UNC just matches up really well with NAU and not that they're playing well at the DEC and much better than they have been the last several weeks.

Coach Hill is just spitting out coach talk. It's win or go home time and the coaches known it and feel it as much as the players do. That's my biggest worry with Weber not typically handling pressure too well. A 6 seed may as well be a 2 seed. Hell, the 1 seed isn't head and shoulders above the pack this year. I believe we saw that manifested in the games yesterday; they were all close, hard fought games and interestingly, the 4-5 game, which you'd expect to be the closest, wasn't as close as the other two at the end. It was good to see the 'cats taking in most of the last two games.

Come on Weber! Get 'er done!

I think we will have 8500 there tonight. Several people have contacted me for extra tickets. I am sensing a little extra buzz around town. What great tournament so far. It is going to be a fun game tonight. We need to start out hot. We can't do the slow start thing that we all love so much. I want to put the pedal to the medal on these guys from the beginning.

It would make absolutely no sense to me if there isn't a good crowd there tonight. SUU is done, the Y is done playing, the U is out, the Ag's are out, UVU is playing in Vegas and it isn't on TV, and really who gives a rats baker about the Wolverines (I hope they win)? The Jazz are garbage, REAL isn't playing tonight...What else do local fans have to do? NOTHING!! They need to get their Arse's out and come to the Dee. Yes, the tickets are a bit high, I wish that upper bowl tickets were $10 at the most, but whatever. The conference decided on the prices. Ogden needs to get out and support it's Cats!!

Neither team looked impressive in the UNC/NAU game. NAU had no life in them until the last 4 minutes. When NAU finally started playing with a little urgency, they forced UNC into multiple errors. The refs didn't call it a lot but the UNC guards traveled all over the place, when faced with a bit of pressure.

I think we match up well with UNC. We just need to play our regular game and we will be fine. If they settle down and play, our bigs should have a good night.

I don't know what we will get for officials, but I hope that none of those who were there yesterday return tonight. :coffee:

Vegas has Weber as a 5.5 favorite. That seems a little low to me considering that UNC played last night and Weber is at home. Look for Weber to win by 8 or 9.

Attendance only 5228?

This has to be very wrong. I think at least 7500 was there. The cars were parked in the street and that one church north of the Dee... Must be a typo.. :twocents:

Just wanted to come to the board and make one observation -- Jordan Richardson defense tonight on Unruh was the key to the win. He exhausted himself through much of the game fighting to keep up with a great shooter. Berry also did a nice job when he got the defensive assignment. I just wish I had film of what he did in the last 10 seconds to deny Unruh the ball. You knew he was the guy NoCol was going to go to for a final 3 attempt. Richardson physically fought through tough screens that were designed to get the ball in Tate's hands -- and he was never able to clear himself from Richardson. Some great, great Weber dunks, but the highlight was Richardson those last seconds.

Looking forward to tomorrow night.

Sorry, you guys will just have to go off on my pessimism or whatever you want to call it, but what are you drinking? Purple kool aid? I told my wife at the game and even texted to a family member who was not able to make it tonight that the crowd was not great and that it looked like 5K, maybe a little more. Those saying 7500 and 8000, I just don't know what your looking at. Both quarters behind baskets were pretty sparse, above the portals were relatively empty, the student side (not the traditional section) was pretty spotty, and everything below the portals was certainly not packed in. The "Pack" was filled in nicely, looked great all in white, and was vocal :thumb:

Is it Spring Break right now? It was also to be expected without discounted or giveaway tickets but I'm still a fan, I still support, attend, and cheer even though I can admit the DEC was only half full. I suppose (and hope) another 2K will get off their behinds, catch the excitement and make the championship game tomorrow.

The 1st alley opp to Joel was one of the sickest dunks I have seen in my life. I love that play.

Crap! Someone came in late two rows in front of us and was kicking people out of their seats and we could not see it. The video panel wasn't working on our side for a replay either. Maybe I can catch the reply on the watch big sky app.
