• Hi Guest,

We've updated the site to combine all the forums that were part of the Big Sky Fans Network into one location. This will make it easier to navigate and participate in all the discussions for each school without having to have multiple accounts, etc. We are still working out some tweaks but please let us know if you notice anything.

With the migration, in some circumstances, your username could have been merged with one of your other usernames from the other forums. If this is the case, you can request to change your username in your account details page of your profile.
  • Hi Guest, want to participate in the discussions, keep track of read/unread posts and more? Create your free account and increase the benefits of your eGriz.com experience today!

Budget Deficit

Y'know what might help drive some revenue? Adding 6,000 seats to Roos Field.

I wonder if our admin sees what Montana is doing and recognizes the lost opportunity? They roll in $$$ every weekend. And they aren't even all that good at football.

As for basketball playing more road games, is that serious? They only played one D1 non-conference game and that was in the middle of Winter break. Two years ago, Chaves didn't schedule a single d1 non-conference home game. Not one. Where are these additional road games going to come from?
Could it be that much of the scheduling in BB and FB was driven by the budget rather than common sense?

Yes, unfortunately it’s a short term view instead of looking at the long term picture. The best thing we can do for our budget and revenue, is to win games, it’s as simple as that. It sometimes feels like we are trying to manage the budget on a yearly basis so much, that we don’t realize the dividends that could be paid down the road with successful seasons back to back in our bigger sports programs.

Short term planning and budgeting only is successful as part of long term planning and budgeting. Short term planning and budgeting - only - is a discouraging, depreciating, limitation resulting in waste of talent and money leading nowhere. (Yup, experienced business degree in action!) Not feeling positive about prospective ADs or the basis of selection. Still, always a great day to be an Eagle.
