It's going to be a good one, we are playing pretty good ball right now and BYU despite being 6-3 is not playing thier best ball, this will only be BYU's 2nd real road game this year, away from the Marriot or home they are 0-3, lets continue that streak on saturday.

Might want to buy your tickets early for this one ladies and gentlemen
 
Does anybody know the last time the Dee sold out? I don't want to get ahead of myself, but I think there is a realistic chance of a sell out, if this game is promoted properly. A Facebook invite has been setup, so use it to invite a bunch of your friends. Lets Pack the House!

I was at #10. It was my first ever Weber game.

1980 weber averaged 10,500 per game.

this looks like there have been no sell outs since 1980. the dee opened in 1977. there were tons of sell outs in the old facility from 1963-1976 with capacity 5,500.

byu fans never come to weber from provo even though they are a bigger school and get lots of road fans. their students never travel to ogden so its not like when usu comes. usu fans all wear usu gear and are very vocal where as the byu fans u dont realize are in the dee until byu scores as they are usually just local ward members who support byu though never attended. if byu fans traveled like usu then this game would get 11,000 every time. but at the same time this also shows we arent getting great turnouts of our own as this game seems to never sell out, tv could also be a factor each yr.

weber is 10-8 at home vs byu

the last time this game was on a saturday night was 2006-07.
 
Im super excited about this game. Im going to do my postition by position break down. Let me know if you agree or if Im smoking puprple weed. lol. Here we go.

PG. Richardson and Wheelright vs. Cusik and Carlino Advantage EVEN. I went back and forth on this one, but I think its pretty even.

SG. Bamforth vs. Haws. Advantage BYU. I love Bam, but Haws is just a little overall better player. I think Bamforth can more than hold his own and have a great game. This is going to be a good matchup to
watch.

SF. Berry vs. Zylstra. Advantage Weber. Berry has been in a little slump, but is about to break out in a big way. Zystra is a good roll player and can get hot, but I think Berry is far superior of the two.

PF. Otis, Bolomboy, and Fulton. vs. Sharp and Austin. Advantage WEBER. This is where Weber can really get after it. I just dont see their PF's even coming close to ours. I hope Im right here.

C. Tres and Hajek vs. Davies Advantage BYU. Davies is the best player here, but Weber has more depth. This group will be fun to watch. If Weber can contain Davies then Weber has a great chance.

Being that the game is at the Dee I predice Weber State wins. 74-68. :) Go Cats.

I agree with you Wazzu. Weber should defend its home floor. Officiating will be key. Watch for WCC refs.
If that is what we have, it could be disapointing for the home crowd. WCC refs are the worst for cheating for their own. I'd be comfortable with WAC or MWC refs. YBU may have demanded WCC refs. We will see.
 
I think we get a good amount of fans, Im going to say it will be between 9-10K, depending of course on the weather, I was really dissapointed with the last two attendance numbers.







Also with what Oldrunner said about refs, is there a way we could hire east coast refs to ref our games? Refs who would be unbiased for either team?
 
These things are decided when the home & home contracts are signed. There will never be a totally fair OOC game called until the NCAA takes it over and starts policing the ranks. The way the system is now, the best thing would be for the both schools to agree to independant refs. However, that almost never happens. The best you can hope is that you get a crew with a little bit of integrety. Over the years, we have had this sort of thing go both ways. We got a little lucky at Dayton and a little less lucky at SJS. Did you notice that the refs for UCI had never reffed at WSU before. That game would not have been so close with independant refs. There were at least 5 traveling calls that they totally ignored and several fouls that could have been called but were not. With BSC refs we win by 35. With independant refs, we win by 20.

Kentucky had a 55 game streak until they lost to Baylor on December 1st.

I hope we can get more students than what we had last Saturday for Irvine. I counted about 20 students that were standing and involved. I am not sure what has happened to the student section. I remember when both sections were full and standing up to the portals. There is tons of potential with this team and I think the players deserve more student support than they have been getting.

This is true, only problem is you have to wear a purple wrist band to sit in the first 4 rows, that's the stupidest thing I have heard. When we found out we couldn't sit in the first 4 rows I know we didn't care to be part of the student section. The funny part is only half of the first 4 rows even were filled. Whoever decided that epic fail and shame on you!!!! I know me and my friends along with a lot of people sitting around us were complaining and I know a lot of support chanting was lost for that as well.

I agree the players should be supported, but it's hard to create a student section when you aren't allowing the students that do show up to sit in the first 4 rows!! :evil:
