It was a good game, one toe from tying it up. Although still challenged on defense I might humbly suggest it was because we should have looked to go man on the outside and stack the box...Good news is we found a QB. According to the coaches he was number 3 coming out of camp because he wasn't as athletic or wasn't a leader but he knows how to stay in a pocket and look downfield...Hmmm.
What worries me is all the talk of being young and needing to rebuild. By my count we have 18 pretty good athletes that contribute a lot who are seniors we won't have next year. #1 Tyler Foreman S, #4 Josh Kraght QB/WR, #5 Kahlil Dawson WR, #7 Darnell Adams WR, #9 Chris Seisay CB, #13 De'Sean Parsons WR, #19 Malik Cyphers CB, #22 Za'Quan Summers RB, #29 Donovan Olumba CB, #35 Mitchell Thompson RB, #39 Beau Duronslet S, #61 Justin Outslay OL, #71 Tyshon Mosley OL, #72 Chad Bach OL, #79 Randin Crecelius OL, #80 Trent Riley WR, #91 William Dawson DL, #99 Davond Dade DE.
We will be even younger next year. Our issue is not talent or youth or needing to rebuild...I'll leave it at that and try to stay positive for the final two games.
Who knows, depending on what happens to teams next week EWU may not be able to qualify for the playoffs and if that is the case we may find them "uninspired" in two weeks and have a window we can take advantage of...
