Nothing like taking a game that should have been a double digit lead and making it way too close.
Tapscott should get the gameball for tonight. A double/double in addition to 3 assists and 2 steals. Harthun wasn't too shabby with his career high of 22 points thanks to lights out shooting. With regards to Parker.... Me likey. There was a couple missed box outs, but he plays a couple inches taller than he is. If we can count on 20+ minutes per game from him, good things should happen.
That is if we can fix some of the issues that we have.
The three guard rotation provided 14 assists (good), but 10 turnovers (bad). Turnovers are a problem this year, and quite a bit are coming from our backcourt. This needs to be fixed.
Is it me or does our press break stink? Seven year old rec leagues know not to toss the ball into the corner when a guy is covered by two guys.
Harvey still looks like a deer in headlights and we're ten games in.
Why don't we full court press the ball more? With the three guards that we started tonight, we seem to have the speed. Even if we don't press all the time, the random full court could burn a bit of the shot clock on a few possessions to force a bad shot. Seems like we have a few possessions where we have a single guard pressure the ball results in a delay into the other team getting into their set offense. I don't profess to be a coach, but seeing what the press did to us tonight, and our speed at guard, it seems like a good idea.
Well, a win is a win I guess. On a side note, it was nice to see that local kid for them play. Tyrone White seemed to have quite a few friends and family on hand tonight, and I'm sure they enjoyed it when he knocked down a few shots.
