Change in conference

It's been awhile since I last posted but I thought this might prove interesting to all of you fans. I've heard that the WAC might consider UNC as a member of the WAC. I am surprised but the WAC needs more baseball teams and they want to include only schools that have baseball as well as football and basketball. AND, the headquarters of the WAC are in Colorado so it seems a natural to me. Remember, this is rumor but it makes some sense. If real, that would be a good move for you guys.

Football wouldn't make much sense since we can't play in the bowl subdivision. You have to average at least 15k a game to be in the FBS and we needed big time help to get the scholarship money for the FCS, I don't think we are there yet.

I think the Big Sky suits our program perfectly (except baseball).

I don't see UNC ever making the jump to FBS, not in my life time anyways. We're just getting our feet settled in FCS. I could see UNC being like a Sac State, their baseball program plays in the WAC. There might be a few big sky teams making the jump to the WAC in the next few years, but I doubt its going to be UNC.

When will all the insanity quit. Late this afternoon (Pacific time) Fresno State and Nevada have been invited to join the MWC. I don't know how true all this is but everyone in the WAC is in a panic as this could spell the end for, at least, San Jose State football. If it does happen and the WAC tries to stay alive then some other teams will have to be assimilated (resistance is futile) and I've heard teams in UNC's conference mentioned along with you guys. I don't know if I'm for that or not. I follow SJS baseball for the most part and this could be devastating if true. Stay tuned.

I think the only school with a legitimate shot at making a successful move to the WAC is UM. That being said, if UM goes MSU would have to go too.
