We are extremely young this year as a team, especially on defense. I support of coaches on both sides of the ball. They are among the best in the business and we are lucky to have them at EWU.

There's so much more to this than almost anyone on this board realizes.
What I do know is that very few professions rely upon the often whimsical success of 18-23 year olds. Attorneys don't have a rabid fan base questioning their every move and calling for their firing when they lose a case.
Walking through the Griz Hall of Fame corridor yesterday to get my tickets and marveling at the stadium and the fans once again reminded me how special and over-achieving our success has been. If you've never been there to see a game, than you have no clue what we're up against and I'm guessing you greatly under-appreciate the success we've had. Out of the 130+ FCS programs, only 22 have ever achieved greatness. Cripes, a small minority have ever even made it out of the quarterfinals. Loot at what the this coaching staff has been able to do.
Wanna mention that they did it with Paul Wulff's recruits? Fine. You know who was UNABLE to do it with Paul Wulff's recruits? Paul Wulff. And it sure as hell was mostly Baldwin's recruits and coaches who got us to back to back Semi's and beat Oregon State.
Everyone in the program is working their asses off (probably harder than many of you at your own jobs) to be successful. Just recognize that when you are calling for a coach's job, (like your opinion actually matters  ) you really do look ignorant and kind of douchey.
(but please continue because it is somewhat entertaining... )
I don't agree with a lot of what you're saying, with all due respect. Everyone knows coaches are trying hard, and for what it's worth, I don't think I've EVER heard someone suggest we should fire the staff.
However, I think we'd be foolish not to acknowledge there are some pretty big issues with this team right now. 6-4 is still alive, but it's very hard to look at our effort yesterday and be comfortable that we're doing things right. The team just didn't look like they had any heart out there. Compare to the Oregon game where we also got beat, but looked like we fought tooth and nail to hang in there and make something happen. I don't think anyone would be upset beyond the typical disappointment from losing a game if we saw that same effort.
Also, how many more years does it take to realize the fit isn't right on defense? Who knows what the solution is there, but you know Baldwin is concerned about it. We just don't force punts, and when you don't force punts-- especially for years on end--- you struggle to win. I hardly think people on this board wanting something to happen to change that ongoing problem is throwing out unjust criticism.
Besides, why would change be bad? It doesn't have to be painful, it can be positive and constructive. I'm not sure why the suggestion of wanting change is seen as negative. There are things not working right now, as is evidenced by our recent results, so change isn't just wanted, it's needed if we are going to be a great team again.
