Changing responsibilities ???

On offense or defense? I can see a change with the defense, but on offense? Collins surely wouldn't call the plays. He's a defensive coach.

Agreed....good point
But a change on the offensive side may be a positive move
To my knowledge there has not been a lot of oc talk since the season ended, but if you recall, there were many calls for change during the season.
There was also talk of the current oc meeting with experienced and respected coaches during this winter to accelerate his learning curve.....has that occurred?
I might also add that change for change sake is often not productive.....purposeful change usually is.

I thought the offensive play calling got a bit better as the season went on, but the first few games were horrible. That's probably due to a new system being installed and how quickly the players can pick it up. I remember though sitting there with my wife during some of the games and she could literally tell me what play they would call next, and she would be right on every time.

We will see some major improvements this season just with the fact that the players will have a full year with this coaching staff, instead of 5 months like last season.

If Boyer is gonna be the OC then what's Armor going to do? I've heard he will coach tight ends... Interesting if he's not the OC any longer.

My understanding is that it is on offense and I believe Boyer will be the OC. All assistant coaches remain on staff...

I've heard rumblings about this too. Not sure what Armour's new job will be.

Ok so word is that it is Boyer's offense anyway. He will remain the QB coach and Armour will remain the OL coach. The only thing that's changing is the OC responsibilities. This is still just what I heard but I do not have a pipeline into the coaches meetings so my take is time will tell short of an official announcement.

There is a new O line coach his name is Chris Smith. He played at Holy Cross University and GA'd at the University of Buffalo. He' s a young guy but comes from a coaching family. Armor will apparently coach tight ends and according to one of the posters here, will lose the OC responsibilities to Boyer. I'm not sure about that but I am sure about the new O line coach.

Boyer really??? I don't understand the logic or why Coach Collins has so much faith in this guy. I didn't even think he was qualified to be a QB coach much less the Offensive Coordinator? His track record has not been shown to be successful. Here's his stats coming in from Mesa State as OC and QB Coach. The QB stats are for the starting QB.

2007 W-L 10-2; QB efficiency 53.1; TD/Int Ratio 11:10
2008 W-L 6-5; QB efficiency 51.8; TD/Int Ratio 11/9
2009 W-L 5-6; QB efficiency 59.2; TD/Int Ratio 8/7
2010 W-L 3-7; QB efficiency 50.8; TD/Int Ratio 8/13

This team just tanked in 3 years. These stats got him a job to UNC? And after an 0-11 season with 54.1 efficiency and 17/10 ratio it got him a promotion to OC?? Come on really? Yes it's not all entirely his fault but he is a common factor in all these stats.

After watching this year's recruiting I was kind of getting excited. This news is really a bubble-burster.

Ill give you all the inside information any human with a brain needs in order to make a distinct evaulation of what the coaching responsibilities reflect regardless the "resource" and everyone on that team/staff/builiding and in this community has access to it! Its call 0 and 11!!!!!!!!!! Can I trust you!!! Quite the slippery slope! and a below, below average RWAC clown who lost to adam state 3 years in a row? is not the answer. Enjoy the show bearfan24

Hey remember back to one of the very first Coaches Show when Coach Collins was talking about the "new" spread offense and how dangerous it is. And how he hated going up against it with other spread teams because it's almost unstoppable. Well the only thing unstoppable about Coach Collins' spread offense this year was the laughter coming from the other sideline.

Give Collins some time to bring in his own players and coaches. Btw, we were *1-10.

Please refresh my memory of that one win ?????
PSU was really a win. Refs blew the call on the game winning TD, remember? I know it doesn't count and that's why I used the *
