All luncheons begin at Noon

I called Ligori's phone number last night, and the message said that they will be opening on Aug 30th at 10:30 am. The coaches luncheon has changed location. It has been moved to the Ogden Country Club. the cost is now $12 a person, and they plan on showing highlights of the previous weeks games. I have no idea how often the lunch will be. According to Becky they moved the location to attract more people from downtown Ogden. If you do not like the change, send an e-mail to [email protected] and let our voices be heard. I know of a number of people who will no longer be attending the lunch because of the the change in venue and the change in price. Not too many people are willing to put up over $10 just for lunch.

P.s. THIS REALLY BLOWS!!!!! way to ruin the only tradition the Wildcat Club even had, and not to mention double the price from last year. The Wildcat club is ran by fucking morons.

So, I now have to show my wildcat club card. AM I GOING TO GET ONE??????? I have been a member for a long time, and have not received a card for the past 2 years. I have NOT received a member packet for at least 3 years. I have to go to the Wildcat club office to get my annual parking pass. I have not received any notification from the Wildcat Club yet this year. BTW according to BECKY things are changing, just wait and see......... I have been waiting for YEARS for things to change. They did change the Coaches lunches and did it WRONG!!!! Why increase price, change to a location farther from campus, and require the Wildcat Club card? Just for a few people in downtown Ogden?? I hope that the downtown people come out in droves to offset the loss of people due to price. This is a great way to let members of the Wildcat Club that those in charge have the best interest of the members at heart. I could go on and on and on, but I was told to quit being so negative. Here goes, I am positive that this is a bad move.

SMJ, i dont think there is such thing as a wclub parking pass. unless maybe its for the highest membership level.

1. why would they move the lunch from ligoris?

2. did ligoris tell wsu they didn't want our luncheons there anymore?

3. who are all these down town people that would not go to ligoris?

4. i am a wildcat club member and have never heard of wclub cards. where can i get one?

5. do you need a golf club membership to get in to the lunch? is that what was meant by card needed?

6. how long has there been a wclub lunch? how long was it at ligoris?

i work in slc but was planning on taking a couple mondyas off this year to go to some of the lunches. I won't be doing it now though.

SMJ, i dont think there is such thing as a wclub parking pass. unless maybe its for the highest membership level.

1. why would they move the lunch from ligoris? Because Becky is trying to kill the luncheon so she doesnt have to do anything.

2. did ligoris tell wsu they didn't want our luncheons there anymore? HELL NO!!!!

3. who are all these down town people that would not go to ligoris? Larry, Curly, and Moe

4. i am a wildcat club member and have never heard of wclub cards. where can i get one? I;m sure it will take an act of Congress to get that done

5. do you need a golf club membership to get in to the lunch? is that what was meant by card needed? No golf club membership, but it says you do need this mythical Wildcat Club card

6. how long has there been a wclub lunch? how long was it at ligoris? I can recall going to the Wildcat Club lunches at Ligoris at least 15-20 years ago

I myself have consumed many a pizza and pasta over the past 10 or more years at the luncheons at Ligori's. I was looking forward to the new Ligori location. I hope there is no bad blood between Weber and Ligori.

Who is the director of the Wildcat Club?

Whomever it is, is absolutely incompetent. It doesn't take a genius to figure out how awful a move this is for the club.

If they are really interested in getting people from downtown, then why is it at the Country Club? Shouldn't the luncheon take place DOWNTOWN and at an establishment that specializes in food?

Why at the Country Club? That is not the apperance the university or the club needs. In my opinion it's to elitest and will alienate students (future club members), young alumni ($12 for lunch), and the traditionalist (longtime members who will leave because of this change and the FACT that the club does nothing other than these luncheons and a couple of worthless trips; I think the Boston trip is being pushed because the Director gets to go for free). In my opinion, absolute incompetence.

Honestly, why would anyone give a single dime to the Wildcat Club. I know I wont join or give any money to the club as long as the current director is in charge. Bovee is really being a twit hitching himself to that falling star. I wonder, is the Wildcat Club director related to Brad, Paul, and Joe (Larry, Moe, and Curly)?

I really hope you guys are sending your concerns via email to Jerry Bovee, The more emails he gets the better for us the fans.

I'm kinda interested in seeing who will actually show up next week. I really think that the majority of the oldtimers wont show up. Also, since its so much more expensive, I really doubt, unless they get the meal for free, that anyone from the athletic department will show up. I know there wont be any students or young alumni. That is where the club should be focusing some of their energies.

I am one of the oldtimers if you count over 15 years of going to coaches lunches as an old timer, and I for one WILL NOT GO to the Country Club.

I have always thought that they should spread it around anyway. Try to incorporate people from all over the front. Let us old people pay a little higher rate to cover a lower price for some of the students that want to get involved.

So does that mean you are volunteering to buy everybody's lunch? For me its not a money thing its more of a principal thing. They are totally screwing Ligori's and im not cool with that.

I can not usually make it to any of them without taking a day off work. I work in SLC. I would buy your lunch any time. The country club deal seems like some sort of a back room sort of thing. We used to have some meetings there, 25 - 30 years ago. The food was never good and the price was worse. I think it was just for some to play golf before or after.

Well the food still sucks, and the price blows. Ligori's has good food and good prices, and the lunches were a big hit and always packed. Why the HELL jerk with a thing that was actually working?
